derekc4
Just now on NFL live. He said we could take him, but if the Broncos pass, he expects Tampa or the Jets to move up and snag him. :point2sky Many of you will like this assessment. Andre Smith is off the board (6th to the Bengals), so I'm not against this as we could get Mack, Beatty, Britton, or maybe even Oher at 17 or 19. Prob get a 3rd rounder out of it. What do you all think?
Thirtyfive2seven
I'm ok with that if the skins get some more picks out of the deal. Perhaps they move back and get a 2nd rd pick. Good stuff!

bubba9497
bidding war for our pick :fingersx: we might get an extra two or three picks
MartinC
If we could trade back 5 or 6 spots and pick up even an extra 3rd rounder and get say Oher that would be a GREAT outcome IMO.
wvtbred
I think this really depends on if they move Jason before the pick comes up. If they have already moved him then they will do one of two things. Take Sanchez or let him go and move back then sign Leftwich. Not taking shots at anyone just saying how I think it could go down.

coachreiter
i saw it too, i think he was saying that we were going to trade up to draft him...he said cutler and rothlesberger went in the 8-12 range so jacksonville and other teams would be looking to trade out if sanchez was available and thats where someone like washington could jump in there. just my interp of the statement:2cents:
HitStickTaylor21
It depends on who our front office actually wants. If it's Maualuga, I don't think he'll be there if we trade back. If it's someone like Michael Oher or Tyson Jackson, he could still be there and we'd pick up extra picks.
Stophovr6
I'm fine with trading back, as long as we address the right side of the line. I really don't want Heyer and Jansen fighting for starting RT.

Gibbs Hog Heaven
Here's hoping for a trade down, but there's always this nagging fear that Vinny will steam in with his BPA come what may. Hail.
mnb123
It all depends on how far up teams are willing to trade for Sanchez. There might be a trade up for him before our pick.
icbmayday
If we could move back and a 2nd round pick with a late first, which doubt I would be all for it. Thought a first and a 3rd doesn't sound bad with our shortage of picks.

derekc4
How many spots would we have to move back to pick up a 2nd? I'm not very good with this stuff. There is no rule. Depends on how much someone wants a player. But if you go by the chart, the skins would probably have to move back 10 or more spots. Bubba earlier said the skins's best case, which is a bidding war over sanchez between tampa and the jets, which could net us a 2nd and we'd only move back at most 6. This is unlikely but not infeasible.

We don't need Leftwich under any circumstances...we have Campbell...he sucks but we have him...the backup Collins was the ONLY reason the Skins made the playoffs 2 years ago...and Colt who many on this board think needs a shot at starting. So where you wanna put Leftwich?
TGI Jef
here's to hoping we can trade back several spots everyone seems to agree that this is a horrible year to have a top 10 pick and an outstanding year to be in the 2nd half of the first round. hell, if we could get a 3rd rounder or so by moving back to 20 i would be elated
RWJ
How many spots would we have to move back to pick up a 2nd? I'm not very good with this stuff. Realistically, down to #22 or #23 but it depends on how bad the team wants to get a particular player.
Redskinjoe
I started a thread a few days ago claiming the run for Cutler, bringing in Leftwich, and looking at Sanchez & Stafford was to create the chance to trade down with teams below the Skins. If Kiper is calling it already then teams are talking potentials right now. More picks baby!

So where you wanna put Leftwich?IMO that's mainly because Collins was running an offense that he could run in his sleep. I remember several reports coming out of training camp last year that Collins was looking pretty rough in Zorn's new system. I'm not saying that Leftwich would be any better, but he is younger, would be cheaper and has a much better arm than Collins.
