Obama Bows to Saudi King

Somehow I'm not surprised you seem to associate with people that hold the same looney view of the world that you do . . .

:doh::doh::doh:

I'll have to file this one and look it up again in about three years and ask you if you really thought all that through.

Until then, I'm happy to abide my time... :munchout: The truth always comes out in the end.

The story about Obama’s unusual gesture has gotten scant media coverage in the United States,

Surprise, surprise, surprise. If this was McCain or another Republican, they would have been roasted. Same with the Special Olympics bowling gaffe.

I am so sick and tired of the liberal bias in the media...

. . . and in 3 years when we are still the United States of America and no HUGE change has occured you'll be telling me to wait another 4 years for "the truth" and that we have been put on the path to whatever "truth" you are spewing bull**** about now . . . without having the slightest clue about what you're talking about.

Yeah lets say that the other way has failed after what? 3 months? Diplomacy isn't something that happens overnight. I guess we should label everyone we don't agree with evil and be done with them, but we saw how great that worked in these past 8 years.

Also pointing out faults in our way isn't being weak it is being realistic and intelligent about it. We are not perfect and pointing out those imperfections isn't bad mouthing the United States.

So you really think diplomecy will work eventually with IRAN, or KOREA or even with the radical islamic terrorists??

this is the dumbest manufactured controversy yet. no wonder most of america thinks republicans are completely ridiculous. superficial meaningless nonsense. a moment that wouldn't even have been recorded if not for the internet and a gaggle of people aching desperately for something, anything, to eviscerate the president for.

Oh really, than if it's not that important why is the whitehouse trying to cover it up and spin it as something else??

This just shows how weak of a president he is. He is not a leader. He felt the need to bow to the king of SA because he still thinks of himself as an ordinary guy, not POTUS. Hopefully he will be sent packing after 4 years.

Do you really believe that, because he bowed his head to a King, he is weak? General Patton bowed to the King of Tunisia (at least in the movie :)), but no one would call him a weakling.

And, FYI, you don't need to be an arrogant *** to be President. Quiet confidence tends to get you a lot further in international relations. I know the "walk loudly and carry a tiny stick" crowd (i.e., Bush/Rumsfeld supporters) will never agree, but you can't fix stupid.

You're talking to a brick wall green. 81artmonk would rather spend his time coming up with completely baseless arguments that he's put no actual thought into and/or attribute quotes to people such as myself that I never gave.

81artmonk will follow Rush and whatever other rightwing lunatics he listen to and there's not much you can do about it.

The facts are out there and Obama and the lib Congress have done nothing to help the State of the Union since they have taken over. If anything they are rewarding those who screw up and penalizing the hard working Americans with these bailouts and stimulus packages.

We are racing towards Socialism and because the majority of America is lazy and want handouts they are embracing the thought that the government can take care of them.

So you think the majority of Americans are lazy and want handouts? Why do you hate America?

JMU can I ask you a question?

Why is it that you are always calling people loonies(Mostly Right Wingers), when they have a different OPINION or take on life than you do?

It is okay to dislike the fact that Obama bowed to the Saudi King, it doesn't make it a non issue because the left doesn't think it's a a big deal.

I am over it. I could care less. I just want equal treatment. But that won't happen -- the liberal media will always give the democrat the benefit of the doubt. Anyone who wants to ignore it is fooling themselves. Case in point: who got blamed for the Sallie Mae and Freddie Mac? Who was the one the actually set the wheels in motion?

"liberal media" is a myth perpetuated by people who hate that they're wrong and feel like the media should bend over backward to accommodate them

Sure it's okay to dislike that he bowed. What's looney is spewing that the bow is a sign that "Obama intends to kiss the feet of the Muslim world as he tries to make them like us," that it is "shameful" and that "World leaders will never respect Obama. Instead they will look at him as an opportunity to exploit America. He'll be a puppet in their hands and they will expose his inexperience to the shame of our entire nation."

It IS looniness that someone would conclude all that from a minor protocol gaffe.

think maybe Obama is a rookie when it comes to foreign protocols and either wasnt advised right or just got nervous and forgot?

i highly doubt he is bowing down like a subject.

Thanks Mike for injecting a little perspective and sanity into the conversation.

We've been over this before many times when we used to go back and forth all the time . . .

I have no problem with people who have different views/opinions and I have learned plenty just on this forum that has caused me to take a step back and think about opposing viewpoints.

However, I do have a problem when someone takes an issue like this particular one - Obama bowing to a prince - and using it as grandstanding so they can spout off about how the truth will come out and try to hint that it's somehow in Obama's plan to ruin and/or destroy America. I also take issue with peopel constantly saying "if it were Bush or if it were a Republican the masses and media would be running with this story and it'd be all over the front cover, etc. etc. etc." I mean just in this particular thread you have a poster accusing the media of glossing over the Obama Tonight Show gaffe, when it has already been shown many times how virtually every major network and every major paper ran stories - often many stories - about the exact issue.

When it gets to that point you go from having a different opinion to having an absurd alternate viewpoint. I'm sorry that you can't see the difference. It goes both ways as well - there are plenty of people on the left that hold extremely absurd viewpoints and I have called them out in the past, both on here and moreso in my personal life.

The answer to your question was: everyone who has been in government over the past 25 years. Bush took the brunt of the blame because he was the most recent Pres, and because he was so horribly incompetent at nearly EVERYTHING else he did it was easy to point to him. And yes, he did deserve his share.
