mistertim
Justin Tuck plays LE i think, so if he is drawing favorable comparisons to him, then I would be alright with this pick. But he didn't do a ton in college and I would like to see someone brought in to play RT. Tuck also had 4.5 more sacks his Junior year than Ayers has his entire career. So what if they are around the same size? 24.5 career college sacks vs 9...yeah. I think Ayers would be a "dependable" guy in the NFL, but not likely to become a special player. J-bomb
What were Justin Tucks stats coming out of college, did he start more than one year? Everyone seems to be worried about what he didn't do in college instead of what he's going to do in the Pros! The coaching and coaches will make him a better player. Looks like mistertim just answered my question!
CommanderDOOM
not so fast. I agree Ayers is risky but has potential. But the TN secondary was real good last yr. The O had the problems.
Going Commando
Ayers shows a lot of potential but there is no way the Skins even sniff the playoffs without an upgraded OLine next year. And IMO that means drafting a starting this year caliber OT or G at 13 or moving back for more OLine picks. That's going to be hard to do. Andre Smith is probably the only guy polished enough to start right away outside of someone like Mack or Unger. And Bugel wouldn't start them over Rabach anyway. He is an old-school conservative coach who isn't going to hand anything to a rookie. We made our current bed with this old, unathletic offensive line a couple of offseasons ago. There will be no quick fixes. We are going to have to take our lumps and draft developmental guys and wait for them to come around. It sucks, because if things don't turn around quickly on offense, We'll be out a QB and likely a coach and we'll have to start over once again.
