Bubble Screen
UNC deserves the national championship. However, I wish they could have played UCONN or Pitt. Those three teams were consistently the best all year and UNC never got to play any of them. So even though they won the title game, I still don't know if they are better than UCONN or pitt. Seriously, bro?
ixcuincle
I don't know but I do know that Michael Jordan kicks ass as do a majority of UNC alumni Jordan with the Wizards was amazing. He was 40 years old and put up so many 40+ pt games, must have set a record for points scored for a player over
WhoRUSupposed2Be
Anyone think UNC can elapse UNLV for most points scored in a championship game (they beat Duke 103-73)? It's quite possible... this team is deep all over. Will Ty Lawson turn pro anyone thinks? What about Ellington?
airborneskins
I'm a Tar Heel born, I'm a Tar Heel bred. And when I die, I'm a Tar Heel dead. So it's rah-rah, Car'lina-'lina! Rah-rah, Car'lina-'lina! GO TO HELL DUKE!!!
Bubble Screen
Wow, UNC set another NCAA record. Most points in the first half ever (55). As a UNC fan, I'm enjoying this one more than the last three championship wins. Back in '82, it was way too close and only up by 1, Georgetown passed the ball to Worthy....1993, the game against Michigan was close until Webber called a time-out and got the technical foul and it was time to foul and put us on the line. 2005, the Illinois game was close until the very end. Again, I'm happy that we are up by 21 at the half and hopefully we will pound the Spartans into the dirt and lock this up by at least 25 points. Yeah, Dean did kind of have both of his titles gift-wrapped for him, didn't he?
Riggins77
Yeah, Dean did kind of have both of his titles gift-wrapped for him, didn't he? Well, it was too close for comfort, but nobody can deny that Dean Smith was a great coach.

If they win, which all signs point to them winning, yes. I think both of them are gone. I hope they follow in the footsteps of the Gators a few years back and stay four years just to see if they can repeat though, but I won't count my chickens before they hatch. Riggins77
Another record for UNC, Ty Lawson has 8 steals in the championship game (7 in the first half). I'm loving this game. On a side note, I don't give a flying **** if we are up by 20+ points, Hansborough should not be taking 3 pointers. I'm ok with it if we are up by 30 in the second half with 2 minutes left. skinsfan834
This tournament has been a MAJOR let down for me. Anyone else agree? There haven't been any really amazing games in this tournament (you could argue Nova/Pitt), no Cinderellas, and a ridiculosly boring championship game. It was sort of a lackluster tourney compared to most years, yes. But I think the committee did an amazing job with the seeding. About the only gripes I heard when the seeds came out, was that Arizona made it in the tourney over a few others. And Arizona proved the committe right, by going out and making the Sweet 16. desioreo87
Seriously, bro? So you are saying UCONN and Pitt weren't two of the best teams all year? I'm not questioning UNC's credentials here, they clearly deserve a national championship. You can only beat who is in front of you and they dismantled everybody. However, they have not played Pitt or UCONN and I think they would be interesting matchups. I don't think there is a lot of difference between the teams. Are you also saying that you wouldn't be interested in seeing a UCONN-UNC game?

I'm saying, why are you saying you don't know that they are the best team, still? Its OBVIOUS to everyone in the world but you that they are. WHO CARES if they didn't get the chance to play UConn or Pitt. Had those two teams WON they would have been playing UNC in the Final. Quit crying, bro. Pitt lost to a team that was supposed to be about the 4th team in the Big East. Not once, but TWICE. And guess what? UNC destroyed that same Villanova squad. Who's to say that wouldn't have been you guys on the other end of a similar beating? And UConn lost to a stinkin' BIG TEN school. UConn would have had no shot against UNC. Not without Dyson. I still think that's why they didn't make the title game. Seriously, give all this UNC hating a rest. Its getting old. I still can't get over your ridiculous comment about UNC not having an inside game. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a long time. Dude, I can't stand UNC either. But I give them their due. They totally deserved this championship. The "closest" anyone came to them was TWELVE points.

They are better than UConn or Pitt because neither of those teams are National Champions. If UConn and Pitt were so good, how come they didn't make it to the Championship game and in Pitt's case, the Final Four? UNC was picked to win it all in the preseason because everyone thought they were the best team in the country. Well at the end of the season, they won it all. They are the best team and had a great run where their closest game was 12 points against Oklahoma and they led by as much as 21 in the 2nd half of that game. Even LSU who gave them the best game, still lost by 14. Out of a possible 240 minutes, UNC trailed for 10!
