Hunter_R
Does no one get that? That the BEars scored more and were better offensively than we were last year? That's with 6XX as the highest yardage for receivers.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
lol, so now the front office is bringing in byron leftwich for a workout? i cant wait til we bring in rex grossman for a workout, followed by threads around here claiming that campbell is better than peyton manning. dude is done. PROSCOUT
You know, the more I think about it, it's not out of the question that Campbell could have a really good season with the condition that we draft a RT. If you believe that a rookie will come in here and play better than the 2 veterans we have, you are probably going to be disappointed. There aren't many rookies who can come in at tackle, start, and shut down speed rushers in the NFL. Andre Smith is the best candidate for the running game, but his pass blocking skills are not tremendous, especially considering her has never played the right tackle position. If we draft Smith, he should be brought in as a temporary guard and as an eventual replacement for Samuels. As a general rule, ROOKIES do not make an impact. So a rookie at right tacke would have no positive affect on our passing game. We are much better off with Heyer.
ArmchairRedskin
Rookie OL come in all the time and start. Lets take last year's first round for example. Jake Long (#1 Dolphins) 16 games started Ryan Clady (#12 Broncos) 16 games started Chris Williams (#14 Bears) 0 games started Branden Albert (#15 Chiefs) 15 games started Gosder Cherilus (#17 Lions) 13 games started Jeff Otah (#19 Panthers) 12 games started Sam Baker (# 21 Falcons) 5 games started Duane Brown (# 26 Texans) 16 games started There's nothing to say that Andre Smith couldn't come in right away and be the best RT we have on the team. Heyer looked pretty good his rookie year, and he was undrafted.
phishisthegreatstuff
people who say he sucks are idiots...he had an 84.3 rating in his first year in a new system. Right now hes not a pro bowl player but he very well could be. Right now JC is a solid QB.

Ghost of
people who say he sucks are idiots...he had an 84.3 rating in his first year in a new system. Brunell had an 80+ rating in 2006. NO ONE thought he was sufficient. campbell also had an 89+ rating in that Cincy game. I think we all agree he was awful in that game. Yet by not throwing INTs, you get a high QB rating. It's pretty simple. In 2001-3, Brady had an 86.5, 85.7 and 85.9. This is while winning the SB, having a 9-7 record then doing well the following year again. He finally stepped up to 90+ in 2004. This is throwing NOT to Welker or Moss or Stallworth (for that one year) or anyone like that but to Deion Branch, David Givens, David Patten and Troy Brown. He also had 18 TDs in 2001 (not a full season) and has never thrown for fewer than 23 TDs since then. The point? That QB rating is a stupid way of judging QBs ABSENT other quantitative and qualititative measurements. Again, campbell had a good QB rating in that Bengals game? You really think he was decent in that start? What's also striking is how he could have such a high rating in that Cincy game with a lowly 6.0 YPA. Jeez, they really need to develop a better rating system for QBs if a 6.0 YPA, 17-28, 1 TD, no INT performance is an 89+ rating.
markmx
This is why PFT just writes stuff for the sake of filling space. Of course, any one would be upset if it was public knowledge that a replacement was being looked for because you didn't do your job good enough. Maybe his next article will be about how one of his sources says the sun will come up tomorrow.
SKOALSKIN
Jason Campbell may have the better season, but I highly doubt Jay Cutler will struggle as much as everyone is claiming he will. His receivers are definitely not top-notch, but a receiver is only as good as his quarterback. Lost in this fray is the sack numbers. JC was knocked down twice as much as cutler. Chicago not only has subpar WR's. His offensive line is terrible. And I don't see old man pace helping out that much.
Monk4theHall81
Note to Jason: we don't care if you are pissed. You are not a good QB, and you don't really deserve a starting spot. All other Redskin QBs have been replaced at some point and you will be to. Most of us want it sooner rather than later. Prove to me you are a great QB and this will change. Why not hope for a successful season for JC instead of posting some garbage like that? I dont get fans like you. JC has more class than you ever will:2cents:

Yet they scored more points than we did by a good margin (they were just above the median, we were awful) and WERE SACKED FEWER TIMES THAN CAMPBELL. Imagine what a QB with an actual release and mobility is going to do behind that "terrible" line.
LadySkinsFan
Maybe JC isn't demanding a trade because he knows he won't get one. At least he has a starting job on the Redskins, but would at most be a backup on other teams.
Laxpunk2006
This passes as news? Who wouldn't be pissed that their team attempted to trade them and failed, a week after telling him to his face they were just rumors? I'm glad Campbell is pissed, and I'm glad he is mature enough to keep some class, unlike 90% of the posters on this board. Keep it classy ES! Like there's no need to be saying that. For the good man that JC is you should like his attitude and how he went about the whole situation. I would be pissed inside to but its not like he's letting it out like Jay "cry baby" Cutler. I bet so much that if you were a quarterback, you would have a chip on your shoulder as JC said he did. NoVaSkins21
At least he's "pissed" in a good way. By that I mean he's motivated to play better and not demand a trade. PROSCOUT
You do make a point. Jason is a GOOD human being. But, as a NFL starting QB, for who the Skins gave up 3 picks including a first rounder, he has NOT YET lived up to his expectations. If you don't make significant strides ... more likely than not, you will be playing somewhere else the subsequent year. MOST of the QB's in the NFL are average. And so far Jason has been average. Here are some average quarterbacks: Donovan McNabb, Eli Manning, Tony Romo sits to pee, Ben Roethlisberger, and Jake Delhomme. None of these guys are in the top 5 or the Elite, but they all have more starting games than Jason Campbell. EVERYBODY is an average or below average QB until they gain the experience and progress to a level where they can handle the pace. I have come to realize that not everybody comes into the NFL at the same level or with the same ability to process information. When you throw in some variables like changing offensive coaches every year, or learning a new system every year, having small receivers instead of 6'5 receivers who can jump, then suddenly it becomes difficult to assess a QB in the first few years. Rich Gannon was not a PRO BOWL caliber QB in his first 9 or 10 seasons and was a 2nd string and journeyman QB. He eventually became a starting QB on a Superbowl caliber team and made the PRO BOWL. So giving up on Jason after only 4 seasons and only 1 full 16 game season is probably not being reasonable. Steve Young in his first FOUR years in the NFL started 38 games, threw for 24 TD passes and 24 int's. Jason Campbell has done better than that, yet Steve Young became a HOF quarterback. The point is that the jury is still out on Jason Campbell until he starts 16 games in the same system 2 years in a row....which is this year. After this year everybody should know what kind of QB he is, and logical judements can be made instead of knee jerk reactions.

Brandon Lloyd Christmas
pro scout, if you think eli/mcnabb/Romo sits to pee/big ben are average, you dont know anything about football. delhomme is average, and if you cant see the difference in these 5 guys, take off the burgandy glasses. 2 of them have won superbowls, ones been to the superbowl and won his divison like 6 times, the other is a choke artist in the playoffs but knows how score and overcome deficits. campbell cant/hasnt/won do any of these. Santana_89
If he's going to get mad now and light up the score board, that's not good. All that tells me is he had it in him before the termoil, but not the balls to use it. That doesn't look good for him. Getting angry is great for 7 year olds playing Red Rover, but this is professional football. You shouldn't have to get pissed to be at your best. +1 I am NOT impressed. Is it going to take Colt coming becoming starter and succeeding or the F.O keeping an eye in the qb market for an upgrade. In order for JC to play with some FIRE /GRIT/MOXIE/PRIDE? If so we are wasting time with him, let him go on and find happiness elsewhere.
