Rocky52Mc
It almost seems like a lot of people are used to the losing formula of cutting players before they get a chance to develop. Players cannot develop with a line that hardly gives the entire offense time, not just JC. Coming back on topic here..there's nothing more true then what you just said. People here are so used to scrapping these young talents we have to start new somewhere..it's like the fan base needs a constant excitement, constant something to look forward to. Some rookie to watch and see if he does great ect. ect. If we had more players with Campbells class and Landrys toughness we'd be set.

Hunter_R
Note to Jason: we don't care if you are pissed. You are not a good QB, and you don't really deserve a starting spot. All other Redskin QBs have been replaced at some point and you will be to. Most of us want it sooner rather than later. Prove to me you are a great QB and this will change. Took the words right out of my mouth. Campbell isn't going to ***** and moan about this, because he knows it'll probably end his career as a starter. FrFan
I can see one danger in this situation, JC is really pissed off and plays better than ever which would be great for the team, and then as he could hold a grudge against Snyder, he leaves in free agency (so far the FO didn't made any commitment to him). SirClintonPortis
I think he's already on the record of saying to that WT reporter that he's going to "...play with more of a chip on your shoulder". THIS REALLY ISN'T NEWS, people.

scottishskinsfan
What an ahole post. Guys like you really don't get it. :applause: It's just a pity us, his fellow fans, and JC have to put up with people like this. Hopefully his carer takes a more active role in censoring his posting in future.

MumboSauce
Of course he's going to say the right things publicly as a professional should, which he is. But on the low of course he'd be pissed or not like the idea of the Cutler deal, and bringing Leftwich in...he just has to use it to further motivate and crush any doubts if he is capable. I hope he is..but haven't seen it consistently or at a high enough level yet.

Chachie
When something like this happens, it's a definite given that the person involved like Campbell would be pissed. However, he is playing it mature and holding it in instead of being a drama queen and starting more trouble. People on this site just don't give ANY player a chance. Remember the trade Portis threads after he blasted his o-line? Jason? Good post and I agree. I expect JC to improve in his 2nd year with Zorn's offense. The low INTs will hopefully remain and if our o-line gets it together he'll be in a much better situation anyway.

How does he know if Jason is pissed or not? And why are all of you "fans" ready to talk negatively about our QB so quick? Even if he was pissed, you are you to to tell him he should not be? Actually I believe he will be a restricted free agent. Meaning that the Skins can match any offer the other teams make for him. So he really doesnt get the choice to leave, he only gets the choice to stay. Elkabong or Longshot could chime in here if I am not correct. Not to mention, I believe we could use the tag on him????? Even if he has an intense year, if he's going to be a RFA then who cares? No need to stop him from hitting RFA. You slap him with a 1st round tender and watching the bidding and just match the highest offer, if it's too high and the team is sold on Colt, get 2 1st round picks in 10' to the loser who most likely needs a QB and that most likely means lower 1st. You do make a point. Jason is a GOOD human being. But, as a NFL starting QB, for who the Skins gave up 3 picks including a first rounder, he has NOT YET lived up to his expectations. If he is talented, now is the time to show people what you really are made off. No more excuses ... don't blame the OL, or WR, or not knowing the system. This off-season work your ass off, and let your play on the field do all the talking. :saber: If you don't make significant strides ... more likely than not, you will be playing somewhere else the subsequent year. This off-season work your ass off, and let your play on the field do all the talking. :saber: If you don't make significant strides ... more likely than not, you will be playing somewhere else the subsequent year. For one, stop looking at JC like we GAVE up a 1st rounder for him. We simply exchanged first round picks. We still had it, it just turned into Jason Campbell... we gave up 2 picks to acquire him and USED a 1st rounder on him by exchanging our first the year after for this one. It's not a question if he's talented, he's ****ing talented. The problems people have here is they: 1. Want Colt Brennan 2. Think the O-line is fine 3. Thinks he locks onto receivers 4: Takes long to release the ball 5: Think he's stupid Whether these are all correct or not doesn't matter, these are the problems he faces with people here on ES. Most of them are excuses but still. Obviously he isn't stupid, he had a great GPA at Auburn while being a starting QB and leading his team to an undefeated season. He had a good score on the wonderlic test. He's a QB in the NFL, that in no way equals stupidity. I don't care if you think McNabb is stupid because he didn't know of a tie, that's called ignorance or being niave, not stupid. Campbell is a classy man, grew up with a good family playing football. This is the kind of guy you need leading your team and locker room and HE DOES. He's a leader, a born leader. Campbell does have the faith of his teamates and that's very important, Zorn again continues to develop him and this year should be his best barring injury. Stfu with Colt Brennan, if people here really love this guy and want him to succeed, then wait it out! That's your BEST bet. If you throw him in there with the pressure this year he'll most likely FAIL. Timing is CRITICAL for a QB. Holding into the ball and locking into a receiver is something that can be taught to not happen. If you're unwilling to work with him as our starting QB for these reasons, THEN YOU WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED WITH ANY QB IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS. I hope you can actually understand that. A human can be taught to not look at one receiver with his eyes. He can be taught to get rid of the ball quicker IF the receiver is actually open and he doesn't want to throw a stupid pass (EXAMPLE: His first damn pass againt Miami in 2007) If the fans who want change NOW due to the fact that they think Campbell doesn't "have it" can't grasp the damn FACT that in order for ANY QB to succeed he needs weapons, time, and consistancy then you will forever be here on these boards complaining about, JC, Colt Brennan, ect. ect. whoever comes along next. This is a process and we're in a 3rd year development program here. This is it. One more year and we will see our results. A lot has happened and I guarentee you this is HOW IT WORKS. There's no QB change to be made, nothing along those lines, the team itself needs the consistancy and Campbell will feed of this as well. That's something we've NEVER had here as an organization under Daniel Snyder, consistancy.

tibbidoe
I'd be pissed too. Imagine you worked at a place for 4 years, and each year the philosophy and approach to your job changed. The people you work with are constantly being shuffled around and/or replaced. Your boss and the rest of the management team are always looking for ways to improve, but part of their motivation is just to keep their jobs. The owner of the company doesn't really know how to run things, but expects nothing less than the best possible results. Despite all this, you have solid, if not spectacular, numbers and still no job security. Wouldn't you be pissed?
Gibbs Hog Heaven
I posted similar yesterday in Burgold's thread about him hopefully reacting to having a "chip on his shoulder", particularly after the last week, so I'll just c and p to save written it all out again. Let me preface this by saying if he's here, I sincerely hope I'm wrong and he does use this as a motivational factor to up his game. But WILL this give him the preverbal "chip on his shoulder" to prove everyone wrong? One of Jason's biggest asset's as a man is ironically one of his biggest football flaws; the fact that he's so nice, laid back and level headed, and doesn't get fired up much at all. I loved the way he, yet again, conducted himself in a very dignified, professional manner when he spoke yesterday, whilst at the time having what looked a 100% certain departure hanging round his neck. But you also get the impression that really IS him, and there's not much difference to that reaction and the one you'd of gotten in private. I'd love to be believe this will motive him into a big "**** YOU, I'LL SHOW YOU *****" to the ownership et all, but I really don't think he has that in his make up. Zorn's favourite phrase, "keeping it medium", could of been coined with Jason in mind. He is what he is, a genuinely nice, guy who keeps everything on one level. Sadly, that doesn't often transcend into winners in sport. Hail.
Ghost of
Jason Campbell may have the better season, but I highly doubt Jay Cutler will struggle as much as everyone is claiming he will. His receivers are definitely not top-notch, but a receiver is only as good as his quarterback. Olsen, Clark are good TE options. I'd say instead of going 2-40 on deep plays to Hester, they may hit 15 of those things (I'm not kidding, Cutler has exactly the arm they need.) Then you got Forte who is an excellent pass receiver and you got something. Considering the BEars oh, I don't know Had TWENTY Passing TDs. Scored 23.4 ppg which was 14th in the NFL compared to our, what 28 29? I'm going to say, add a Cutler and their offense will be even better than ours was last year. Does no one get that? That the BEars scored more and were better offensively than we were last year? Oh yeah, their defense was only middle of the pack last year in yards and points. Imagine what they can do if they sustain a drive or GASP get a lead?! Then you can unleash those hounds and really salt a game away. Or you can hope to pull out a dramatic 16-13 win against terrible teams and pat the QB on the back for getting 'the win' that ends up being meaningless.
