Kyle Busch/JGR=Extremely generous!

So, about a month ago when the season first started Kyle was forced to drive the Interstate Battery Toyota. My daughter being a HUGE Kyle Busch fan, as long as he's in the M&M car, was distraught! My daughter Zoe will be 5 in May and has loved KB since last season. It's a huge fight on Sunday's between her and my son who of course like his daddy is Jr. fan. Anyway, the weekend Kyle had to drive the Interstate Battery car my daughter brought me a piece of paper and a pencil and told me "you have to write Kyle and tell him he can't drive that car anymore!" She meant it too, she was upset!

So I cruised around various KB websites and couldn't find a good contact address. I kept searching and finally went to a JGR website and sent them an email telling them that my daughter wanted to express her concern about KB not driving the M&M car. I also told them that when I went to the Vegas race that there was only one KB merchandise trailer and standing in line for almost 40 minutes to buy a hat for Zoe was reason enough for some more trailers. I didn't really expect a response but I just wanted to put it out there, I mean I was ordered by my daugter to do so.

About a week later I received an email from a lady named Becky and she told me that she was forwarded my email from JGR. She also said she was KB's personal assistant and loved my story about Zoe and Kyle loves his little "rowdy fans". We emailed back and forth a little bit and she asked for my address so she could send Zoe a few things but it would have to wait until KB returned from Atlanta.

Long story longer Zoe received a box today with an autographed 18 hat, a diecast 18 1/64 dirt track car, M&M car, autographed photo, rowdy fan Tshirt and a chase authentic pink M&M jacket! Of course no box is complete without the bottom being covered with Snickers, packs of M&M's and Combos. How freaking sweat is that? My daughter was estatic! That darn jacket is at least $100! Wow, just wow!

Like him or hate him KB's generosity is proof to me that Joe Gibbs does pick character guys. I still love me some Dale Jr but KB just solidified himself as my #2 Driver. Good on you KB, good on you. I'll post some photo's later.

I actually got a little choked up when I opened the box with my daugter and saw everything that they sent. I didn't expect anything and even when she said she was going to have KB sign something the most I expected was a picture or T-shirt. Truly a cool thing, extremely cool. I have a new found respect for KB that's for sure. The jacket is a large but my daughter is still wearing it around the house. Lol! She's a trip.

There is nothing like Nascar - nothing. The access that we have to drivers and teams is awesome. This is a great story and to be honest, it does not surprise me.

The driver to have Snickers/M&Ms as a sponsor just before Kyle was my favorite - Ricky of course. Just after the season started, I got a large pack of Snickers bars (gave most of them to kids at church) from the team. I told Ricky's assistant that the candy went to a bunch of teens where I go to church. Two weeks later - three times the amount of Snickers arrives unexpectedly and the teens were happy to get the candy.

Kyle is a great driver. His talent is unreal. His heart is even bigger. Thanks for sharing the story and making my day a little brighter. Look forward to seeing the pics.

What a great story! I had this mindset that Kyle was a punk (his brother too). I was already reconsidering my opinion since his firing from Hendrick MS for JR. Kyle's vs JR's success since speaks for itself.

The fact that Kyle and his assistant did that for your daughter makes it impossible for me to hate on him anymore (I wish JGR hadn't switched to Toyota though:().

Your story reminds me of something Rock Cartwright did for me (thanks to Blondie) for Christmas 2 years ago. He is now and forever an isle-hawg household all time favorite.

Like I told a few folks at work "How bout dem Redneck NASCAR fella's". No sport compares to NASCAR when it comes to taking care of it's fans. Just good people doing good things. I used to think Kyle was too arrogant but he's definitely changed my prespective. Dude sure is kind and you're right, i won't forget the look on her face when she opened that box. Of course the first thing she got really excited about was the candy.:hysterical:

I agree 100%, he's changed my opinion. I remember your story, it too changed my opinion of Rock. Glad I could repay the favor. :D

Pro sports needs more of this. Awesome story, thanks for sharing.

I remember when I was a kid my dad used to take me to Caps games. (it was the only thing we could afford, and the occasional bullets game, lol). Anyways it was not uncommon for an NHL player to flip a puck into the stands during warmup. I haven't been to a pro hockey game in years but I wonder if they still do that. Because I guarantee you, any kid that gets a puck is going to be a die hard fan for life.

Just like I'm sure your daughter will be a KB/JGR fan for life b/c of this. At a minimum it's great business, and great for NASCAR. good on 'em

Sports have changed a lot since we were kids. When I used to skip school and go to Reskin Park I'd walk right through the gate and out to the field, Art, Joey T, Butz, Jacoby, Green, Riggo you name it they all were just regular dudes. They didn't hesitate to stop and sign autographs and shake a hand, ask "why aren't you in school?". I was always on my way to the dentist. ;) You go now and it's like a circus, you can't get up close and personal and only a handful of players will stop. It's just different, we've all changed I guess. Society just isn't the same anymore. Paying for autographs? Unheard of back in the day.

NASCAR know's what makes it great, the fans. Most of them don't bite the hand that feeds them. Let's hope they continue to keep it real. I've always been a fan but my loyalty just grew ten fold.

I took my wife and kids to a caps game, we sat right behind the penalty box. Players were passing pucks over to the kids. Hockey is still a sport where the players aren't too distant from the fans.

This is why NASCAR is the best sport as far as fans being able to get close to drivers, and driver take care of fans. I would say that 95% if not all of the drivers really do care about the fans.

What other sport can you go to that you can get pit passes during the race and stand beside pit wall while the race is going on? When i had passes last year, all of the drivers and owners will sign autographs, and get pictures taken no problem. They understand that without fans there would be no NASCAR. Maybe other sports should look at the way NASCAR does it.

I cant stand Kyle Busch, Toyota or Joe Gibbs racing as a fan. But you cant deny the impact that something as simple for them as this will have on your daughter. They may have just made a fan for life with this. And maybe, just maybe, I will boo Kylie a little less come Sundays....lol

lol. I'm glad to see you were so touched by this story.

I've always understood that there is a difference between a driver on the track and off the track. It's great to hear that they are able to take care of their fans.

exactly. he will get my vote for a good rep for the sport when it comes to fans but on the track he gets my fist shaking and my fulls BOOOS!!

Just like Romo sits to pee pulling over to help a dude with car problems. Good on him as a man and a human but BOO on him as a Cowbum on Sunday.
