Smoot Point Really
I love it! The same people calling Cutler a crybaby because he wanted to get out of Denver are now saying that they wont blame Campbell if he demands a trade! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I agree it sounds hypocritical. I think Cutler has some justification. Campbell wouldn't have as much, because we'd be looking to move Campbell for someone who is younger and has actually gotten to the Pro Bowl. Bowlen looks dumb for bringing in this 32-year old kid to coach his team without planning for the continued development of their 25-year old Pro Bowl franchise QB. NavyDave
First off 5 watt light bulbs unless there is a catastrophic injury or a major wow factor in preseason games there is no way in hades Danny is going to let an untested guy control the destiny of the Redskins under Center this year so fantasies of the run and shoot guy from the WACk is going to remain a fantasy. Campbell was on Sportsnite professional as expected an extremely confident that his second season in the same system will lead to a break out year for him statistically to the point the sportcasters pointed out his ****iness as well as his expected maturity. Then Comcast posted both QBs career stats Jason Campbell Games 36 Attempts 1,130 Completions 675 Percentage 59.7 Att per game 31.4 Yards 7,242 TDs 35 Interceptions 23 Sacked 66 Rating 80.4 Jay Cutler Games 37 Attempts 1220 completions 762 percentage 62.7 Att per game 33 Yards 9,024 TDs 54 Interceptions 37 Sacked 51 Rating 87.1 I hope the deal for Cutler falls thru Campbell has a stellar season resulting in a Lombardi. LandoverLex
What about Colt??? I don't know about anyone else, but I would at least like to see him given an opportunity. Sounds like he is no longer in the picture period. Colt was never in the picture.

ABSTRACT
We're not getting Cutler...JC will be our QB...PERIOD. I have been saying this whole time. JC is just getting into his 2nd year in the same offensive scheme and Cutler has been playing in the same one for years. Mediocrity will be among us forever unless we get some heart and build our team through development and hard work and not like a 12 year old's fantasy draft team. It sickens me that the fans are starting to act and think just like Vinny while they are criticizing him. It is hypocritical. If you wanna blame anyone for our offensive slumps. Blame Vinny for not developing our O-line earlier and for picking up small recievers.
JVSkins n Hokies
JC won't openly come out and say he's pissed or "Trade me." Campbell has the character you want in a QB, he jsut doesn't seem to have the coveted 'it' factor that makes a QB elite. The skins could make this work if we build around him. Art
Assuming our interest in Cutler is real, the question isn't so much what this will do to Campbell, so much as what it says about Campbell. Unlike the situation in Denver where the new coach simply preferred someone he knew better, but had no full grasp of what Cutler could do or couldn't do, our staff knows our QB very well. If they have concluded he is not the long-term answer, whether they go for Cutler or a rookie or not, the real question is about Campbell. I think Campbell is a very good quarterback if used in a very specific way. An intermediate passing game with passes 15-25 yards downfield seems to be his money spot. The way he's used seems to be something he struggles with in this offense and I'm not sure Zorn has an answer to those limitations OTHER than to find someone who doesn't have those limitations, given he's shown little imagination in adapting to the strengths of the guys he does have. Similar to Ramsey with Spurrier being a terrible, terrible fit, Campbell with Zorn may be similar. I'm not judging that it is, but, if the team is legitimately interested in another QB for any reason, the reason is Campbell is the QB they know they can't win with long term. If they believe that, I could care less what Campbell thinks about it. I care that if Campbell disagrees, he proves them wrong, or, that the team is successful finding someone else it thinks and hopes is better suited. Personally, I expect Campbell here this year and I doubt anything else will be done at this position.
tiger187126
This is an audition for Campbell, not just his play on the field but how he deals with things off the field. He understands the NFL and is only concerned about improving himself and his team. I think this whole ordeal shows what kind of man Campbell is and I have always and will always want him as the quarterback of my team.
Thinking Skins
I've got a feeling the Redskins locker room is a lot ilke it is here on Extremeskins, with some excited about the possibility to get Cutler and some pissed - seeing it as a rebuilding move. I feel like this is something that could destroy team chemistry for a marginal increase in talent.

BoBoCTiberius
I would love for this to be motivation for Campbell to come out and destroy the NFC East this season. Sadly, based on Campbell's character and the quality of this offense, I think this season is doomed because of this, trade or no trade. I would absolutely adore it if JC comes out and has an MVP season, and then tellls us to shove off when we offer him a multi-year deal this time next year. He deserves better than this and a huge potential guy like him could do so well somewhere else. Hopefully, because I'm not the type of fan who would be bitter about such a thing, if we land Cutler, JC gets shipped to somewhere like Chicago or Minnesota or the Jets and has a great career. Sadly, I believe we've ruined this guy the way we ruined Ramsey. I hope for a different outcome, but I think this is how it will turn out.

Spitfire71
I don't believe so. Personally, I think he'll be fine. He's trying to deal with a bunch of fans that want to find every reason available to get him out of here, so I think he that he'll be relieved no matter which way it goes. Personally, I don't think Cutler will come here. I'm not really sure we have the salary cap room, first off. Second, you have to be really careful bringing someone from the present-era AFC West to the NFC East and expecting too much. The fact is, you can't win the division at 8-8 in the NFCBeast. In fact, that record might just find you in the division cellar. Just ask the 2007 Eagles. One thing that Campbell definitively has over Cutler? He's not easy to pick off. There is SOMETHING to be said for the fact that Campbell went over 200 pass attempts without a pick. Cutler, on the other hand, will frustrate fans with his turnovers. Moreover, I don't believe that McDaniels would want Campbell, so he would ask instead for either multiple draft picks or a PAIR of first rounders - which isn't worth the risk at all, especially since we're going to have pressing needs on the O-line, D-line, and perhaps at LB in a couple of years. If you get Cutler, you have to ship Campbell out if you don't want to have 4 QBs on the roster AND eat 2 first-round contracts and have one guy that's slightly pissed off, and you wouldn't get equal value for him from a team like the Bears, Lions, or Vikings. And on top of that, there's no indication that Cutler would even like it here. He doesn't have a big safety-blanket target that's as developed as Brandon Marshall. There are too many things that could go wrong with this, and I think that the Redskins have already taken enough risks for this year.
CHERRYR
The plans for Colt always have been as a project. If the intention was to get him immediate to near immediate playing time we wouldn't have waited untill the sixth round to take him. If he had impressed coaches to the extent that they thought he was the next big thing there wouldn't be Jay Cutler rumors. If that's true then he should be traded as well if this Cutler deal goes down for the Skins... get whatever can be had for him... the lowly 6th Rd. pick that he is... maybe even sweeten the pot for Denver with Colt. I mean why do you need a project QB at #3 when you've just given away 1st Rd. picks for your new franchise QB? I think you're wrong about 'if the coaches thought Colt was the next big thing'... these Cutler rumors are pure Snyder 'aku eye'... his eyes are probably so big he's itching to grab his wallet. With the set of QBs the team presently has, how could the acquisition of Cutler at such great cost be viewed in any other way except to brand him THE FRANCHISE QB SNYDER HAS BEEN STARVING FOR? To hell with acquiring the team's greatest need at Oline in the '09 Draft... though fans that want Cutler so bad may be blinded to this need as well, like those that agreed that drafting 'weapons' for JC in the '08 Draft was the right move... the trenches can wait. The thing is, lots of people feel they know through what they've seen what JC is/is not capable of, fine... that would include the FO cause otherwise JC wouldn't be sittin' on a 1 year and out contract without any kinda extension whatsoever. AND, to answer the question... who gives a rat's okole what damage (IF ANY) has been done to JC with these Cutler trade talks!? This is the kind of BS that's make a player like Cutler think he's got the right to act like a baby... this is a business. Nobody knows what Colt is capable of... all they KNOW is 'there was a reason he was drafted in the 6th Rd.' So deal him! Hail to Emperor Snyder's wallet and the continuation of driving this franchise straight off the cliff! Franchise's like the Steelers must be chuckling at all the emotional excitement around the NFL being caused by this Cutler situation... it's like the Favre thing all over again. Of course they have their franchise QB... they drafted him.
