Wow.

The calendar doesn’t yet say April 1, but we’re not sure that the Broncos haven’t gotten a head start on the process.

In a statement released Tuesday night, owner Pat Bowlen says that the team will accommodate quarterback Jay Cutler’s request for a trade:

“Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by [coach] Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful.

“A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncosmag-glass_10x10.gif.

“We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.”

Did we say, “Wow”?

If there was any doubt, the auction is open. Let the bidding begin.

We just need to stand pat, and let Campbell develop this season. It's funny how everyone jumped off the JC bandwagon....members of the media were hyping him up as a MVP candidate after the first 8 games of the season. As far as Cutler...I've heard some comparisons to Jeff George, so take that any way you want. Campbell is our guy this year, and we should be supportive. Hardly ANY QB in the NFL would be successful standing behind our O-Line from last year. Give the kid some slack, and let's see what strides he has made since the end of the 08-09 season. I still have faith in #17.

Peyton Manning played in front of a bunch of Undrafted rookie FA's (Ugoh and Staurday were gone for long extended periods), yet he still played as great as ever. Maybe if Campbell didn't take forever in getting rid of the football, there would be no sacks? How can you defend his long windup and inability to make quick decisions? Jay Cutler is a FAR superior player in every regard as a quarterback. Watch them play. Cutler actually gets rid of the ball before the defense has a chance to sack him. Campbell sits back and can't read a defense to save his life.

Honestly, how many teams in the NFL would want Jason Campbell as their quarterback?

How epic would it be if Bowlen held a press conference and said... APRIL FOOLS!

:rotflmao: That would be great. Or if Vinny called a pc tomorrow morning and went on and on about how the Redskins shipped JC, Cooley, and 2 first rounders to Denver for Cutler, then after about 15 minutes said "April FOOLS biatch!"
