I am a fan of the old Sherlock Holmes books and even the comics. I really think Robert Downey, Jr. is going to do a good job ... and I even think Jude Law can pull of Watson ... my only fear is Guy Ritchie. What do you all think?

Check out the teaser poster from www.Jumpingtheshark.net :

I thought Law was playing Moriarty?

IMDB.com has him down as playing Dr. Watson check it out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0988045/

why is this on jumpingtheshark? is it a joke?

I don't necessarily believe this guy is saying "Sherlock Holmes" has jumped the shark. I think it is just the title of his blog ... probably just using the popular culture meme to get hits.

He has been doing well lately with "Iron Man" and "Tropic Thunder." Other than his disparaging marks about "The Dark Knight" Downey has been cool lately.

Thiebears' comment was more to the fact that the character of Sherlock Holmes is a cocaine addict.

It might be an interesting movie. I like Downey, Jr.

Now I'm confused. I thought Will Ferrell and Sasha Baron Cohen were doing a remake of this movie as a comedy?

Ever seen "Without a Clue"? Very funny movie.. Holmes (Michael Caine) is a complete idiot, Watson (Ben Kingsley) is the genius solving the crimes. But because Holmes is so much more flamboyant and better looking, he gets all the credit. Fun movie.

Guy Ritchie is awesome. How can you not like the guy that made Lock,Stock and Snatch. He did some piss poor films in Cast Away (I blame Madonna for this one) and Revolver (I blame Madonna for this one). However, his newest one was his return to form in Rock'N'Rolla. He got rid of the harpy and is awesome again.
