Califan007 The Constipated
I think my favorite movie genre is Sci-Fi thrillers and Psychological thrillers...but there never seem to be very many slated to come out each year. I checked out "Knowing" and was disappointed...and I have no clue when the next Sci-Fi/Psychological thriller will be released, or what it will be. Anyone heard of any good ones that are supposed to be released this year?

ChocolateCitySkin
the guy that directed this short film about aliens in africa -- i believe is expanding it to a feature film... he's an upstart director that is supposed to be the jammy jam. he also did his short film version of Dark Angel that blows the original series out of the water.http://www.metacafe.com/watch/53460/aliens_in_africa/ Neill Blomkamp is the name of the director... he's like the hottest unknown in hollywood right now. Yeah, I left the "thriller" off after the "sci-fi" in the thread title because I thought it would probably be too long lol ... Star Trek is more sci-fi adventure, which I also love (that movie BETTER be damn good, though  )...I'm just missing having some good thrillers to look forward to, and sci-fi and psychological thrillers always rank at the top in my mind. TK
No, it ain't a sci-fi thriller... I take it you're looking for something more along the lines of Event Horizon?
Metalhead
Here's a list, the closest to your criteria being the "The Box" and possibly "The Road": 9 Terminator: Salvation - obviously action oriented, but the new extended trailer looked pretty crazy. 2012 - Stars John Cusak. The Box - Nov.6th...from the director of Donnie Darko. Avatar - The James Cameron mega-movie. The Road - post-apocalyptic....sounds like it might be the most dreary and tense one ever? Not much info yet.

It may be due to the fact that I have a young son but this novel hit me emotionally like no other.

Kinda, yeah...or more like Jacob's Ladder or Primer or Knowing (although a helluva lot better than that last one ended up being lol)...something like a twilight zone/Philip K. Dick type of movie.
