brlawson
"I cannot remember Shawn losing a game for the Skins."I think his leg deserves the Lions share of the blame for the Rams loss. I believe he missed two in that game. Agreed. He makes one more FG and we win. 19-17. 4-1 Skins lose to 0-4 Rams. At the same time, JC needs to put some damn points on the board. More than 17, please.

What fantasy land are you two living in where he missed field goals in the Rams game?I'm all about replacing Swissham but you can't just make stuff up.... Hazel-Ra
My error...maybe I'm thinking the Bengals game. I have work to do and can't go through every game stat. What I Do know is that in our mighty 2-6 finish he was good for at least one miss in most of those games. I agree when people say the reg offense needs to keep a kicker out of those situations. But go back to Mosely in the 82 season: Regular season schedule and standings Schedule Week Date Opponent Result Game site Record 1 September 12, 1982 Philadelphia Eagles W 37-34 (OT) Veterans Stadium 1-0 2 September 19, 1982 Tampa Bay Buccaneers W 21-13 Tampa Stadium 2-0 10 November 21, 1982 New York Giants W 27-17 Giants Stadium 3-0 11 November 28, 1982 Philadelphia Eagles W 13-9 RFK Stadium 4-0 12 December 5, 1982 Dallas Cowboys L 24-10 RFK Stadium 4-1 13 December 12, 1982 St. Louis Cardinals W 12-7 Busch Memorial Stadium 5-1 14 December 19, 1982 New York Giants W 15-14 RFK Stadium 6-1 15 December 26, 1982 New Orleans Saints W 27-10 Louisiana Superdome 7-1 16 January 2, 1983 St. Louis Cardinals W 28-0 RFK Stadium 8-1 Thanks Wiki Some of those games were close and in a strike shortened season, losing 2-3 of those nailbiters could have cost us the playoff run to our first SB Crown. On paper none of us want to depend on a kicker but when you're the Redskins, you usually do more then don't and we have a bad kicker. There...that's my fantasyland

Regardless, if he missed one or not, had he scored three more points for our team, we wouldn't have been in a position to lose by two. And yes, that has alot to do with our offense getting within 50 yards.
moondog
He is a professional kicker in the National Football League. If he can't adjust in the time he had, then he needs to find a new profession. Kickers win football games and our kicker isn't good at all. Who out there is available that we can afford that you would suggest we pick up that is better? Skinz4Life12
suisham is terrible. there is no way to justify it. he sucks and is a huge momentum killer.
SIXX99
Who out there is available that we can afford that you would suggest we pick up that is better? I don't know, a bum in the subway he can't be worse than Shuisham.
moondog
I don't know, a bum in the subway he can't be worse than Shuisham. Absolutely, suit him up. If Dave Rayner is the best we can do then let em compete. In case you haven't noticed, at least half the league tends to have ****ty, inconsistent kickers year in and year out and they shuffle em around with a few new people. A couple teams end up with amazing kickers that can win games and be huge for their teams. Same goes for punters. Those guys usually get locked up and the rest of the league is left looking for the best of the ****ty group. Suisham was probably the best kicker we've had in a while until last year so I'd be willing to let him off the hook and give him one more shot if he beats Rayner out in a competition. If you're not then that's fine but it's a pretty lame argument to say cut his ass he's worthless if there is no one out there that's any better. You can't just make a decision based on his body of work, you have to compare to what you would replace him with.
CommanderDOOM
Still remember when he missed the FG in the playoffs against Seattle a couple years ago. Is Connor Hughes on an NFL roster??
