Slateman
So I'm about to deploy and I'm busying getting as many movies as I can before I go. How do you burn a DVD movie to your hard drive? Like, how do the guys who put movies up on torrents get them that way?

I just drag the video files to the hard drive use a program like winavi or Super to convert it to a manageable file like rmvb,Wmv or Avi. Super works with blueray movies too and is free to download. SUSkinsFan
What kind of computer do you have? There is a program for Mac called Handbrake that I would STRONGLY recommend you use. They make a Windows version of it but I'm not sure how to use it.

SUSkinsFan
Is Handbrake supposed to take like 4 hours per movie?Mine usually took about the length of the movie. But it's definitely worth it. You barely lose any quality when you play it back

rebornempowered
Burn ISO's of your DVD's to your hard drive. Download VLC and it will play the ISO's. Of course if you want to watch them someplace else it won't work but based upon what you said I think this might work for you.
