Thoughts from fans around the league

Just thought I'd muse other messageboards to see fan reaction to the Skins bi-yearly offseason extravaganza.

Titans messageboard:

Stone Cold - " This is an opportunity for someone to step up now. The Redskins have more money than sense. Snyder throws money around like confetti at a wedding."

madfantoronto - "I think the Titans Org will sleep just fine at nite over this. There is no chance in hell he is worth that. The guaranteed $$ off the top is just insane, and I will be stunned if he plays anywhere near the level he has the last 2 years. Bye Al, enjoy that bounty, and Skinz got it right - congrats to the Skins, World Champs of March."(this was pretty much the consensus)

Colts messageboard:

Texascoltsfan - "well now Peyton has one less worry this year."

coltsrule91 - " but his brother now has problems"

thewholefnshow28 - "Who cares! It will be funny to see poor Eli get squashed instead of Peyton.

I am glad to see Albert is out of the AFC. This loss defiantely hurts the Titans so that brings a smile to my face.

This is just a glimpse at what an uncap system would be like in the NFL."

Midwestmafia - " It never seizes to amaze me that these big name free agents never learn their lesson when they sign with the Redskins or Cowboys. It never works and they will continue to suck year in and year out."

Steelers messageboard:

fansince '76 - "Yep, a replay of the '90s is coming, unfortunately. I'm not looking forward to the Steelers becoming a farm team for wealthier owners again. We draft them, coach them up, turn them into Pro Bowlers, and Snyder and Jones (among others) steal them away with ridiculous contracts like this.

Well, not again. The minute the NFL goes uncapped, I'm no longer watching."

Tampa Bay messageboard:

Deadeagle - "The Redskins are going to release their whole team, sign Haynesworth, and let his awesomeness rule over the NFC East."

ToxicBucfan - "Synder is single handedly ruining the league. He alone is pushing contracts so high into orbit, that the rest of the owners around the league don't even want to compete with him. I realize it's all about filling seats, but he does this without regard for the integrity of the league. If there is no CAP next year, he wins. This is very sad. The only way around this is for the commish to step in, which I doubt will happen."

Raiders messageboard:

cheapshotartist - "Who do we have that's better? Sands fat, outta shape, weak azz? Warren's play taking off azz? Kelly's over paid do nothing azz? Stop hating Son we would all be very happy If he had signed with the Raiders."

NYG forum:

bones911 - "Do you guys think that Haynesworth production will actually go down because think about it twice a year he has to face our O line and the cowgirls O line. 2 of the best in the NFL. That will definitly decrease his production. Not to mention getting all that money he doesn't have to do ****"

best reaction remains, from the bucs forum, the following:

"Haynesworth is nowhere near the best DT in the league.

See: DeMarcus Ware (20 sacks)"

the rest of the league owners dont want to compete? and thats why it's snyder's fault? the commish should step in?

why would teh commisioner step in? the redskins will get under the cap and no rules will have been broken. as idiotic as the Ware comment.

Its true. Eagles O-line is solid also. Haynesworth won't get to feast on the Texans twice this year. Not sure Jax fielded as good an Oline as anyone in the NFCE either.

HATERS, you know if any of their teams had signed AH that they would be singing their prospective owner's praises. They are all just jealous, and i am sorry but this is not Baseball, i dont think even in an uncapped year that you could "buy" a championship. Different sport, different ways of winning it all, apples & oranges to me....

I'm often listening to Milwaukee sports talk here on the internet , and the afternoon host came on doing his promo for the afternoon show and he was irate , like it was a waste of money , and then Jason Wilde (Wisconsin State Journal Packers writer) went on and made a few references to the Haynesworth signing and he was thankful the Packers were not owned by Dan Snyder

Honestly it's a good signing though...addresses our needs at DL

Don't know how the Giants fans feel on the other forum I visit since none of them have woken up yet lol...but one of the Eagles fans I spoke to today also said it was a waste of money , that he was overrated , etc. Jealous eagles fans

Except we haven't won. And we haven't been a great franchise since the Cookes' sold the team.

Agreed. I see most of the Snyder slurpers are all less than 30, so they don't have the memories of franchises built right in Washington. Snyder is their only hope, but that's not much hope.

The iggles lost two starters along their offensive line.

The midgets ran at our DEs

The pokes were effective running the second game after we were banged up and beat them the last time in poke stadium.

Yeah let fans of others believe an upgrade at that position wont make us significatly better at run stuffing and pass rushing.

I think Snyder learned a lot under Gibbs. I think this signing is good, he is young and productive. Now with some draft day success we have just gotten younger and more talented, is that not what the Skins needed?

Honestly, coming form someone who is not a Redskins fan, I don't think anyone is jealous of your front office's method of building a team....

I would 100% imagine this to be correct.

other teams fans may be a little bit more weary of our pass rush, but I think alot of them are still laughing at us. The only thing that can change that is our play come September and beyond next year. Until then, you can't blame other team's fans for laughing.

While I am not completely on the Haynesworth bandwagon, some of these comments are funny. Especially the Eagles fans. How much did the spend for Asante Samuel? How much did they spend for Terrell Owens? How much did the spend for Jevon Kearse?

How much did the Vikes spend for Jared Allen?

How much did the Pats give Adalius Thomas?

EVERY team does it. Quit whining...
