Minor?

The dude never played again after 2005. He tore his patella tendon and got a Staph infection in July 2006. After 4 operations, he never stepped on the football field until June 2008. He was cut by the Browns and announced his retirement.

http://www.ohiomm.com/blogs/browns/2009/01/21/bentley-resurfaces/

"I'm not entertaining anything right now," Bentley said. "I've lived the NFL dream, better than 90 percent of the guys have ever lived it."

As for playing again, Bentley said, "I play football every day, I've got three boys. That's what I'm doing now."

He used to be a great player, but he's no longer an option.

Oh wow, I didnt know all that. Oops. Last I heard, he hurt his knee, then got the Staph infection with doesnt really have anything to do with anything other than he played for the Browns, then when he came back asked for his release because the backup center was playing well enough to hold the starting job for the time being, and then I never heard anything else. My mistake

If we get him, I'd rather play him at LG. Brown started 31 games at LG for the Ravens. He was only moved to C last year.

He was much MUCH better at C than Guard. He was a penalty liability at Guard.

I don't think its critical to replace Rabach at this point, but I don't want to rely on Kendall another season. If he will play guard, for now, I think it would be a good signing.

Rabach is the weakest link on the o-line. He was the 2nd worst center in the league in terms of sacks allowed. He wasn't able to hold his ground, and couldn't maintain the pocket which meant Campbell had to scramble (hey that rhymed). Well more like Campbell had to evade and dance around in the pocket till he ran into another defender or threw away the ball.

Anyways, Jason Brown would be an amazing signing, much more bang for the buck than Haynesworth. Brown held his own against the big NT's in the AFC North. He can hold his own against the cowgirls big NT, and should be pretty damn good against the Eagles and Giants.

I wouldn't mind picking this guy up. I could be mistaken, but didn't Rabach also play some G earlier in his career? If we keep Kendell and sign this guy, Rabach could back up all 3 interior positions (or let Kendell walk, try to trade down and grab Duke Robinson, either way). It would be a very nice upgrade to the interior of our line, and it would give Campbell (or Colt, there I mentioned his name don't hijack the thread) an actual pocket to step up into to avoid outside rushers.

This would actually be a FA signing that makes sense. Id be happy going with Brown and Canty, and take a RT or trade down with our pick. As a bonus, get a draft pick for Springs. That would be good enough for me this offseason, with a full draft and a lot of cap room for 2010.

How can we sign Haynesworth, resign Hall, and look to sign Brown? Do we have that much Cap room?

I don't think there's any way the Skins would be able to sign all 3 of these players. I can see them getting 2, and we all know which 2 the FO really want. So I doubt Brown will be wearing Burgundy and Gold next season, we'll be left with Rabach at the center position for another season.
