Burgundy Burner’s ES/RR Nascar Challenge – Las Vegas

I'm starting to see a trend. Just a theory mind you. If you start in the back you get away from that early wreck that always seem to be in the middle of the pack. You can use caution flags to gain spots while everyone else is wrecking themselves out of contention. Why race a guy all day? Stay back a little and let someone else wreck him. That puts both of them out and when the yellow comes out the guys in the front tend to pit. You race up to them and when the race starts back again your all the way at the front. NOW, let's go racin'. It seems to be a gamble, but it might not be totally out of the relm.

Your theory is a lil flawed. But I guess it does work sorta like that, at times. But usually its a bad idea to start in the back. For instance, on a track like Vegas, by starting in the back you are already about 15 seconds (or about a full straight-away from the leader). So, should there not be any cautions for, say, 30 laps, you're gonna go a lap down very early in the race.

Oftentimes, however, there are cautions early, so drivers can then use various strategies. Some come in and only change two tires and fuel. Some all 4 tires. And some will just stay out. (track position) And, yeah, there may be a wreck in the middle. And that would also help those in the very back move up many spots. Provided they aren't a part of the wreck. And starting in the back is usually where you'll find most wrecks. Most of the guys starting in the back are, for lack of a better word...scrubs.

There are guys, Kyle Busch being one, that can start from anywhere in the field and get away with it. Someone like him is just so talented that they can just maneuver through it all in no time. Kenseth is another. Although yesterday a blown engine rendered that. Jeff Burton is another guy that is good at starting in the back and quickly moving to the front.

But the reality of it is, none of them choose to start back there. You don't want to be there if you can help it. Again, too many rookies back there. And too many guys that just can't drive back there. Most of the veterans would much rather race with guys they can trust a lil more, up front. Also alot of cars (Jeff Gordon) just don't run very well in the pack. They need to be out front with more clean air.

i think i'm gonna start picking Kyle Busch so i can jinx him....

ouch.. that hurt just typing that i would even JOKE about picking Busch

Even Gordon said he has more talent than he ever did. That speaks volumes. He's just so much better than anyone else out there. I don't like the guy. But he could very well go down as the best ever.

I think all the F1 talk is foolish, though. The kid hasn't even won a title yet. I seriously doubt he really has much interest in F1. He has unfinished business to tend to in Nascar.

Of course you wouldn't...That would greatly improve Jr's chances of winning. Then again, to really improve Jr's chances, you'd pretty much have to hope J. Gordon, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart etc (among others) also leave for Forumla 1. :D
