Great game to watch with good basketball played by both teams for the most part.

I'm sure Mason will get JMU back in the CAA tournament if they play but it is nice to actually have a relevant basketball team again. Hopefully this "rivalry" will be renewed in the coming years.

Wait, I just saw the highlights. Did they rush the court after beating us?

Guess that means we're like the Duke of the CAA :D

LOL pretty much, that and the fact that it ended a 10 game losing streak to Mason. I remember the last time we beat them was my freshman year - and it was a miracle OT victory if I remember correctly.

I'm looking forward to seeing CAA basketball over the next few years.

GMU lost that game

Considering JMU was without their best player, one of their best freshman for the whole 2nd half, and had 4 players in foul trouble for the 2nd half - I'd say it was a JMU win.

It wasn't some miracle that JMU won the game - they were up 14 at one point.

I'm not sure why the hell Mason can't win a freaking road game anymore. All our losses have been the same too. Get down by a bit at the start of the 2nd half, battle back valiantly, then just can't finish at the end. We now have 7 losses, all by 6 points or less.

I had to check the program to see what year Swanson was. I was afraid that he was one of the freshmen you were talking about JMU. Big sigh of relief when I saw he was a senior. That dude was on fire today.

I swear I would have probably freaked out and started screaming incoherently if Pearson had made that half-court shot at the buzzer.

You'll be fine come CAA tournament time. I don't see any other team winning it besides either Mason or VCU - I'm interested to see what we can do next year - supposedly our recruiting class next year is supposed to be better than the one this year and we also have a nice transfer coming from an SEC school.

Like I said in the OP, I'm just looking forward to this hopefully becoming a rivalry again in the next few years.

In regards to Swanston - he's a senior and he can definitely shoot the lights out when he gets hot. Unfortunately, he's been pretty one-dimensional for most of his career and hasn't developed anything else offensively so when he isn't hitting from the outside he can be an offensive liability.

That is by far the stupidest saying ever. Why the **** would I want a Duke dog?
LOL I never got it myself - although a lot of people seem to love it.

back in my day at jmu, the duke dog was a celeb. And it's not saying you PERSONALLY want a duke dog, it's that your school wishes their mascot was as cool as Duke Dog.
