addicted
My guess for devision winners NFC East = Eagles (unless they trade McNabb, if they do give the devision to Dallas) NFC North = Green Bay (My surprise team of the year) NFC South = Carolina (hard to pick this devision, loaded with talent) NFC West = Arizona AFC West = San Deigo AFC South = Colts (Best devision in football imo) AFC North = Pittsburgh AFC East = Patriots
HighOnHendrix
The Cardinals could have gone 7 and 9 and won the division. The 49ers were 7 and 9 and the Cardinals held the tie breaker over them. I had to go and fact-check this one, as I didn't remember them doing that. It was 98, back when they were still in our division. They didn't win the division, though; they got the wild card, finishing second behind Dallass, whom they beat in the wild-card round. Regardless, San Diego won their division at 8-8, only one game off of 7-9. Also, upon further research, there have been 17 division winners with 9 wins; 3 with 8 wins; and none with only 7 wins. Note: since 1978, when the current 16-game season was implemented. Also, 1982 strike-shortened season was not counted, though 1987 15 game season was counted. PS - I counted those up by looking at wikipedia pages, if my count is off I apologize. A funny thing I noticed was that Seattle popped up as winning their division at 9-7 an awful lot: four times to be exact. In two different divisions in two different conferences, to boot. My 2009 predictions: (sure to be wrong...) NFC East: Washington (I can't deny it: my homeritus is flaring up again.) NFC West: San Fran (One of these jokers has to win 8 or 9 games.) NFC North: Green Bay (Rogers < Favre, but develops enough to win div.) NFC South: Atlanta (These guys impressed me a lot last year.) AFC East: New England (Perennial favorites.) AFC West: Denver (San Diego is only better on paper.) AFC North: Baltimore (Defense is top-notch, offense is getting better.) AFC South: Indy (Titans will fall off some from last year, Indy stays constant.)
