I don't see a problem either. Everyone knows who is gay or not gay already, she just says it'll make them even more flamboyant. Her whole point was that your sexual orientation shouldn't matter at all, just KEEP IT TO YOURSELF

Yeah, I mean before that they could come out and ask you or probably put you on polygraph to find out. Then you'd get booted or thrown in jail. I'm guessing there won't be satisfaction until gays in the military are allowed to march through Key West in pink thongs. :whoknows:

When I was in the Army I always loved the women who looked like men and rocked the buzz cut. Hmmm.

And I've actually seen soldiers who aren't gay use "Don't ask, don't tell" to get out. They would go to the commander or 1st Sergeant and straight up tell him, "I'm gay." Or "1st Sergeant, I'm having problems at home. My wife caught me sleeping with a man.""

Bush said this and the Democrats freaked out on him and made this a big deal. Now that Obama says the same thing the Republicans are going to freal out and make it into a big deal. I'm not an Obama guy and I voted for Bush in 2000/2004 and McCain in 2008...however, I don't think Obama is trying to say that we will stop trying to capture or kill OBL. I think he's simply stating that it doesn't NEED to happen for things to be OK on that front.

I love how many people assume that because Obama's said this that he's dead vs. the other alternative that it means they have NO IDEA where he is (i.e. that he's likely left the Afghanistan/Pakistan area and could essentially be anywhere in the world- including sitting on a big farm somewhere in the US) and to talk about killing him would be politically stupid.

I never thought killing Bin Laden was a good metric for success in the GWOT. It would be nice to see him die or better yet get captured and put on trial and given the death penalty like Saddam. But that alone is certainly not the end game.

Let's use some common sense here. If he's still pumping out audio recordings, assuming it's really him, is he really cut off from his contacts with the outside world? That doesn't seem very logical.

If you read more than just the parts that were underlined by the OP, you might notice that Obama didn't say Bin Laden is currently cut off. He merely suggested that if we are able to shutdown the lines of communication, killing the man is no longer essential.
