CommDownMan
I think he means option D, which was M.Moore on his "poll". I would like a Portis/Chris Johnson split. Portis is better than LenDale "fatty" White, so that would be a pretty sick combo.
Bang
If I have to make a choice, give me Chris Johnson. LT has too much wear and tear, and if I'm San Diego, I see what kind of offers he brings. I don't think he's ever going to be back full. Stephen Jackson held out of training camp this year because Linehan ran a tough (too tough, actually) camp. I agree it was probably over the top tough for today's standards, but that is too much a me-first attitude red flag for me. Mewelde Moore,, thanks anyway. There's a reason he's a backup. Derrick Ward, thanks anyway, I think more of a team oriented success story there. Chris Johnson is young, fast, can score from anywhere, hasn't been hurt, and is a team player. Course, I still like CP, so it's moot. ~Bang
Art McDonough
Without improvement, our offensive line would turn any of them into fodder.
TankRizzo
Chris Johnson, no questions asked. Young and exciting. He's Portis when Portis was with Denver. He's a threat running the ball or receiving, he's soon going to surpass Westbrook as the most dangerous player in the NFL. LT is nearing the end of his run, SJax can't stay healthy, Mewelde Moore is a journeyman RB. Ward is just the odd man out, I don't really have much of an opinion on him one way or the other. Passizle
Who would you rather havea)Portis b)Tomlinson c)Stephen Jackson(Rams) d)Mewelde Moore(Steelers) e)Derrick Ward(Giants) f)Chris Johnson(Titans) My Pick is D Moore has take it to the house speed and runs hard with great accelertationSecond pick F As a pure rusher? I would have to take S Jackson. That guy... when not injured... is a beast and like a tough version of Westbrook IMHO Eveybody else is less in my book. Even LT, he has lost a step with his injuried over the past 2 years... But yo cant forget about CP's intangiables... like leadership, blocking ability... etc... He's a good soldier and does what he's told on field, and he does it well, but leading isn't his strong point.
NoleSkin21
You would trade CP straight up for Moore?!?! WTF are you thinking? Moore isn't anywhere close to being the player CP is!! Every team in the NFL could have had Moore for vet minimum last year and you want to trade CP for him? Moore is a nice player, but he doesn't belong in this discussion. Cooley4President
Moore? Really? I don't think he's ever been a starter on any of his teams without an injury to the #1 guy. Give me Johnson for his speed and youth. Gotta value youth with RBs considering they are usually washed up as they approach 30.
bushwack
Moore? Really? I don't think he's ever been a starter on any of his teams without an injury to the #1 guy. Well when it came to the Steelers and Moore, Parker went down then Mendenhall went down to make Moore the temporary starter. So I don't understand how Moore can even be put in the discussion with the rest of these players.
FCREDSKINS
Moore? That dude got blown out of Minn. None of those dudes can carry Portis's jock, I'm not the biggest Portis fan but please? Portis runs behing an aged out O-line, and blocks like a beast, I bet as big as Jackson is he can't come close to laying the bone jarring blocks that Portis can. Tomlinson is awful talented as well but his recent health problems seem to concern more than just me. For all the Sproles talk, this Dudes tiny, he'll have a shelf life in the NFL of about 3-4 years tops.

addicted
a)Portis - Great overall RB but concerned about his health b)Tomlinson - Overused and can't stay healthy, not LT of old c)Stephen Jackson(Rams) - Can't stay healthy or play a full year, good for 10 games a year only d)Mewelde Moore(Steelers) - If he was great he wouldn't have come cheap to Pitts. He's above average but doesn't belong on this list e)Derrick Ward(Giants) - Seriously he is not a full time 25+ carries a game, shouldn't be considered f)Chris Johnson(Titans) - Too unknown but young and powerful and fast. The sexy pick here is Johnson but he's a rookie who's relied on a bigger RB all year. The most common sense pick is Portis since he's produced here before. Ward, Moore, Jackson, and Tomlinson have too many question marks. I'd take Portis
Long-Time-Fan
Why the poll didnt include Adrian Petterson is beyound me. How do you not include the Leagues best rusher? Portis and Betts need to go,it's just a shame we are so cap strapped to them. We need youth and speed and SOMEONE who can find the endzone. Betts was a bust this year and Portis is too much a distraction.

Tats not a lack of leadership... thats a frustrated player... happens all the time in the NFL. WHat I am talking about is locker room presence. I would bet mney that he gets alot of respect in that locker room and alot of guys look up to him.
mcarey032
I will take Portis. I know that he has some drawbacks, but the guy is willing to block when other backs completely wiff when it comes to blocking. Marcus Mason could have been on this team, but there was simple fact that he didn't make it and that was because didn't block very well and thus he was let go. You need to be more than just someone who can run and catch. You should be able to block and Portis does that on a consistent basis.
