fire3fighter4
I got into this discussion last year when a cowboys fan tried to tell me barber was better in portis. I tried to explain that situational backs that split carries will almost always have higher YPC, and thats the only reason barber does. He has proved me right this year. While he still had a good seson, his numbers dropped. All the reason for us do draft a RB with next years draft to split carries with Portis. bubba9497
Why can't you give the Cowboys any? why should you care? tr1 is here to stay, his posts are well within the rules.... so either get over it, put him on ignore, or post elsewhere. keep harassing him, and the choice maybe made for you
Big Blue Joe
BTW, where is the Brandon Jacobs is not a feature back thread? The guy hasn't made it through either of the seasons he's played in....What would the title of the thread be? "Brandon Jacobs as the feature back? Um, pretty good..." Ken
Jacobs has back to back 1,000+ yard seasons. Barber had 7 fumbles to Jacobs 3. Jacobs also shows up in the big games. Barber has had 1 defining game: 2008 @ WAS. He killed the end of the game. Oh, and unless you are Brian Westbrook you aren not being paid to make hay in the receiving game. You get paid to load the team on your back in the running game. Ah yes, the magical 66 yards a game average. That is what truely makes a great running back... Tell your reception analysis to LT.... Yup, Barber did nothing this year but have decent game against the skins... That's not entirely true. Barber had another defining game. The one where he fell apart in the second half of the most important game of his professional career. illone
I wonder if that guy will ever break 1K yards? You'd think it would be automatic given that beast of an oline in little D. Guess not. :whoknows:

The one where he fell apart in the second half of the most important game of his professional career. I'm assuming you are refering to the Playoff game last year? Obviously, that 2nd half had everything to do with Barber "falling apart". Had absolutely nothing to do with the Giants stepping up their defense and hitting him 5 yards deep in the backfield mutliple carries.... I hate people who love to assume that football is a 1 person game.... Also, Brandon Jacobs really showed Barber how to play the RB position with his 3.9 ypc in that game.....

Had absolutely nothing to do with the Giants stepping up their defense and hitting him 5 yards deep in the backfield mutliple carries.... The Giants got a lot of penetration in the first half as well. Barber burned them with cutbacks and bounce outs. But in the second half, he wore down and couldn't get the job done anymore Also, Brandon Jacobs really showed Barber how to play the RB position with his 3.9 ypc in that game.....Don't go blaming Barber's poor season on Brandon Jacobs. It's not his fault that Marion is a slow learner.
bubba9497
Hilarious, that's all i'll say. you guys seem to forget ATN is for Redskins fans to discuss other teams on a redskin mb., and anyone wanting to participate must accept the perspective of being a Redskin fan, as the norm. Needed to go to an Eagle game to get your sig, huh? Yeah, it must have been that Barber just fell on his face, there was huge holes that he just tripped running through, now that you have jogged my memory.
mcarey032
You can see how well the platooning of backs worked for the Giants. I don't put this on Barber. He is a tough back and he tore us up the second time. I think that he really wanted to show us that he wasn't completely owned by us. I think that he was unfairly called out by the owner saying that he should start when JJ said nothing about his boy Romo sits to pee not starting over his broken pinky finger. To me, JJ is the reason that the Cowboys are going to be the front runners in football because the owner's pride has gotten in the way. Not too dissimilar to how Dan Snyder lets his pride get in the way when it comes to the Redskins. Look at Marty did for us and then he was let go. He left Spurrier a decent team and Spurrier/Cerrato/Snyder totally blew that one for us. If those two could just do what the owners in Pitt, NE, Phil, and NY do, they would be fine and competitive. If I bought a gas station and I knew nothing about cars, do you think that I would start telling the mechanics what to do and how they should fix the cars? Dan and JJ, let your pride go and get people who know football. You don't have to be the smartest guys in the room. You just will look reallly smart for getting people who are actually smarter than you are.

I get that. Anyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you're trying to limit discussion, which is what message boards are all about. He just asked a question to tr1, it wasn't harassment. Threatening to ban the guy because he was asking another member a question on their opinion kind of defeats the purpose of a discussion board.
