#21Taylor4Ever
Broncos fired head coach Mike Shanahan. The better decision would have been to strip Shanahan of his personnel duties, but owner Pat Bowlen made the reactionary move to fire him outright. Bowlen is very unlikely to find a better in-game strategist and influence on Jay Cutler. It's also now unclear what will become of the team's zone-blocking running system, a longtime Broncos staple. Shanahan finishes his 14 years in Denver with a 136-86 record, two Super Bowl wins, and seven playoff appearances. This is a foolish firing by the Broncos. Source: NFL.com You sure beat me to it, though I wouldn't fire Zorn. Zorn should become JUST the QB coach/O-Coord, so he can concentrate solely on Jason Campbell. The best part about Shanahan is, he would also help in the maturation of Campbell.
HitStickTaylor21
After all the power he had in Denver, he's not coming unless he's head coach and GM
mnb123
Shanahans Offense+ blache D= win Theoretically that is, until we go 6-
Yeen80
I dont think bringing Shanahan here will solve much. But it would be interesting to see if he'd use Portis the same way he did in Denver. Interesting
Frediemac
I love Jim Zorn BUT Mike Shanahan is a PROVEN winner that will turn this franchise around. I really believe he would. I would bet on it.
redskins59
I agree with this 100%. We better go hard for Shanahan. Just fire Zorn and hire Shanahan. Make it happen, Snyder. All I know is, Shanahan knows how to coach offense. Plus his offense is West-Coast offense, so he'd fit right in.
Frediemac
After all the power he had in Denver, he's not coming unless he's head coach and GM Then he should be GM as well. Make Vinny his assistant. Make Jim Zorn the Offensive Coordinator ???? What do you guys think

Interesting They use the zone blocking scheme in Denver. I think they emphasize lighter more agile lineman.
LaRonDontLikeUgly
NO. NO. NO. NO. The guy made some horrible decisions the past few years... mostly by taking chances on troublesome players and it DID NOT WORK. He is not the same Mike Shanahan from 5 years ago. This guy will tear any foundation we have to the ground immediately.
Shilsu
Then he should be GM as well. Make Vinny his assistant.Make Jim Zorn the Offensive Coordinator ???? What do you guys think No.... He is one of the worst GM's on par with Vinny Cerrato... You would think there'd be a winner between all the trades with Broncos, Redskins, and Jets. Instead, they all lost. True incompetence. terrifNick21
It amazes me that whenever someone's released/fired, Redskins fans always think they should come here. :rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao:

akorn22
After all the power he had in Denver, he's not coming unless he's head coach and GM actually as a matter of fact, he may be willing to step down to just a coach. When he was just a head coach in denver is when he was winning. This is danny's kind of guy. A big name coach with lots of experience and superbowl rings. Bringing him to work with portis again would be awesome
