Taylorfan2179
There are two things you can gurantee with the offseason. All eyes on Dan, and this board will come up with a thousand trade propositions and they will all involve ladell betts.
KNGwithOUTaCrwN
if we could get sproles. that would be amazing. he would really help us out
The Sisko
Actually if we're incredibly lucky we might be able to foist him off on the Lambs for a 4th maybe. (Please, please ?) Saunders always had a woody for him and he knows their offense. I think that's about the only shot we'd have at a deal though.
MikeB
Trade Portis instead. Keep Betts for pounding and bring in a younger more explosive back who can pass catch - a la Westbrook.
mi6
What do you guys think Ladell Betts' trade value, would be...I personally think we need to move in a different direction...Betts is an OK back, but just OK. I think You sign Darren Sproles in the offseason and put him with CP.Do you think we can get a decent draft pick for him? And do we save or lose money by trading him? The cap database for thewarpath.net has been down. Don't think there is any trade value for Ladell Betts. He fumbles quite a bit, isn't too explosive, and is not a young starting RB. He has been, for the most past, a career backup.
terpskins10
Trade Portis instead. Keep Betts for pounding and bring in a younger more explosive back who can pass catch - a la Westbrook. Keep Betts for dropping the ball at the worst times? Our running game would be so bad, this board would have about 300 new things to complain about. Why trade away the only player on the team that ranks among the top at his position, and played like it most of the year?
westcoasthog
a backup running back that will be 30 years old next year? Not very much trade value. Sorry' date=' [b']maybe a 6th. Maybe a 4th if Vinny gets fired, rehired by someone else and we trade Betts to Vinny's new team.[/b]quote]Hahahahahaha! God I wish we were that lucky! NawtyMagazine
I want to know what ARE's value is. Maybe package him with Betts, but i have no idea what team would take that package of salary. its not basketball
LoudMouth12thMan
He's more valuable to keep than he would be to trade. I can't say that, on the other hand, for Portis. Portis' value is higher if he were to be traded. Because he's a power Back, he's reliant upon a powerful O line. We don't have that. We'd be better of getting a Scat Back to compliment Betts and use the draft picks that we'd get from trading Portis to build the team in spots that are thin (O line, D line, LB). Not advocating this, I'm just saying that Betts should be kept. Portis should at least be shopped to get a feel for who would want him and what he'd be worth. I think that if you're going to trade Portis in the next couple of years, you'd better shop him at the peak of his market value. That time would be now. :2cents:
