I think we should let Betts take most of the first half carries and then let's start pounding a fresh CP into defenses in the 2nd half. This works because both guys are playing hurt so they need to be kept fresh. Betts is also a tough physical runner who can soften up a defense by halftime.

Not so sure about that. Most great backs will tell you they need X amount of carries to get into their game rhythm, and CP is no different. Not to mention Ladell has a very bad habit of dropping the rock at critical moments in games. Not always...but enough to be worrisome.

Put it this way: how many of us were jaw-droppingly shocked when CP got stripped late in the game against the Browns?

Now how many of us would have felt that way had it been Ladell who did it?

You know, everyone keeps saying he's getting too many carries. But he hasn't even had 30 carries in a game yet. Keep him between 20 and 30 carries and he will run the hell out of the ball. I think it's working fine. It's not like when Larry Johnson was getting 35-40 carries a game.

Don't you mean Larry Brown?
