JaimeDeCurry
Wow, I didn't realize just how consistent Portis is. When you look at games with the same number of carries, he has almost exactly the same number of yards, regardless of the defense he's playing. He's a damn monster. Saqs
I think it's safe to say CP needs 20+ carries for us to have a chance.
method man
I think we should let Betts take most of the first half carries and then let's start pounding a fresh CP into defenses in the 2nd half. This works because both guys are playing hurt so they need to be kept fresh. Betts is also a tough physical runner who can soften up a defense by halftime. Most great backs will tell you they need X amount of carries to get into their game rhythm, and CP is no different. Not to mention Ladell has a very bad habit of dropping the rock at critical moments in games. Not always...but enough to be worrisome. Put it this way: how many of us were jaw-droppingly shocked when CP got stripped late in the game against the Browns? Now how many of us would have felt that way had it been Ladell who did it? brianm23
Same here because our most valuable player is London Fletcher When London Fletcher has the type of impact that Portis has, then you are allowed to make that argument. Take Fletcher out and we can still win. Take Portis out, and we are screwed.

MustangSteve
7-2 when he carries 20+ times a game., that is the key.
pjfootballer
You know, everyone keeps saying he's getting too many carries. But he hasn't even had 30 carries in a game yet. Keep him between 20 and 30 carries and he will run the hell out of the ball. I think it's working fine. It's not like when Larry Johnson was getting 35-40 carries a game.
