Redskins Top The List Of Most Overrated Team Of The NFL

I was originally just going to write about the 'skins, but I will also do my top three overrated teams, with the Redskins being the focus.

The Top Three (starting with the most overrated)

1. Washington Redskins-The skins average 18 points a game, that's fifth worst in the league, coupled with the 20th best pass attack.

Don't pay any attention to their fifth best rushing yards, Clinton Portis is there whole offense, and even he can't lead them to 30 point game, a feat many teams have accomplished multiple times.

Only half their wins are against winning teams, and those teams are the Cardinals (who will appear later on this list), the Eagles (who couldn't even beat the lowly 1-9-1 Bengals), and the Cowboys, who have been struggling of late. Not to mention, if the playoffs started today, the Redskins would be on the outside looking in.

2. Buffalo Bills-Now I'm glad to see that a lot of the hype surrounding them has died off, as the team has been playing horrible of late, but they still are getting too much credit from people who believe they are just in a slump.

Now yes, their schedule is favorable, but just look at the numbers. The only major offensive category the Bills rank in the top half of the league is passing yards, which they rank 15th. That won't be true for very much longer.

In his last four games, Edwards has eight interceptions, three touchdowns, and has been sacked nine times. If that doesn't put you over, their defense's best rank is 13th.

3. Arizona Cardinals-They are the only team of the three that will be playoff bound, but that by no means makes them good.

Their offense is solid, make that their passing offense is great, not their third worst rushing attack. Of their seven wins, just two come against teams with winning records, both of them standing at 6-4 right now, the worst possible record of a winning team at this point. Not much proof, I 'm just not sold on them.

Worse argument ever. We ran into every team except the Lions and Rams when they were playing well, including the Browns.

I wonder if this guy thought the Giants were the most overrated team in the NFL half way through the season when they had played the worse teams for 8 weeks straight?

Good, the skins don't deserve any praise with the way they have been playing these past few games. Everyone that is a skin fan knows this team plays better when everyone thinks they stink. I'd rather have the media hate the skins and see them win games instead of being top 5 on the power rankings and losing games

Can't say I disagree. Losing to the Rams, getting a little lucky against the Lions, and now losing to the Cowboys. We've had some stinkers recently.

Our defense is anything but overrated though. They are real good considering the pass rush woes.

Where are we rated? I can understand college teams being label overrated, because they all are ranked. No rankings voted on in the NFL,just standings based on wins and loses.

And if you asked me, I'd say the most overrated team in the league is the Philadelphia Eagles. They are still getting credit even though their chances of making the playoffs are slim to none.

However, I could argue that our beloved Redskins are overrated. We always play close games and lately our offense has been too anemic to win us games that we thought were gimmies 4 weeks ago. Our offense needs to get back on track or all of these close games wont go in our favor.

But yeah. The most overrated team... the Eagles, followed closely by the Cowboys.

Who wrote that list?

Grammatical errors and punctuation errors galore.

Not that I'm perfect in that regard, but I'd like to think if I had something published that it would be cleaned up better than that.

As for the list...

Who cares?

I embrace the underdog role anyways :)

when did anyone said we are dominating team anyway? we got lucky this year and ended up with 6 and 4. hopefully with some more luck we can pull some more wins. we are not that great of a team but an average. I really hope we can get something going on this year, Im tired of losing.

Level of agreement with this post - 100%. And you are spot on, considering how lousy our pass rush is, the d is pretty good. But without an offense, what good is a solid defense?

I agree there are flaws with the team - no shame admitting that. I take issue with the "over-rated tag", which was the whole subject of that donkey's article. I base over-rated on two things: how good were you predicted to be before the season and the perception of how good you are vs. the reality of how good you actually are. Two teams in the league stick out to me when considering both (and taking into consideration injuries and strength of schedule, etc.): San Diego and Dallas. Washington was picked to finish third or fourth in the division behind Dallas and NYG. Also, I have not heard anyone on ESPN or NFL network talk up our team since about Week 5 or 6.

PC Magazine has just released its list of “Top 100 Undiscovered Websites,” and Bleacher Report has earned recognition.

Bubba had to go and discover it.

Edit: This is open source website which allows anyone with a computer to write what they want to. It is no different then doing the same here on ES.

An incredibly poor article. Most people had the Skins picked to finish fourth in the NFC EAST. They are 6-4 and despite the article, would go to the playoffs if the season ended today. There is no shame in losing to the Steelers, Cowboys and Giants. The Rams loss could haunt us however.

If he wants teams that have not come to play, he can start with Green Bay, Minnesota, New Orleans, Philly and Dallas. Seattle and San Fran, the darlings of the West, stink!

The best stories in the NFC are the Falcons, Panthers, Giants, Cards and Skins IMO.

Honest question to everyone:

Do we severely over estimate the talent on this team??

IMO, I think as fans, we do alot of times.

People brag about the Oline here, yet JC can hardly get time to get off a three step drop.

People here brag about our defense, yet when we absolutely need to get off the field with a game changing stop, they can't do it.

Or we let most opposing QBs have all day to scan the field.

Is John Riggins right when he said we were just an average team that just happened to get hot early in the year??

I for one, am starting to lean that way. Hope I'm wrong, but with each passing Sunday, Riggo's statement is bearing out to be true. :(

If the season ended today, we're in the playoffs. I'd hope that this guy gets a little red in the face for writing such a stupid argument.. the skins can't be overrated because every power ranking has them as the worse team with a winning record despite the fact that we beat the Cowboys and the Cards pretty handily.. we barely lost three games, and one game got out of hand.. Yes, our offense can't score, but our defense doesn't allow scoring, that has to count for something.. If I was grading this article, I'd give it a D.. this guy needs to go back to school for a little while longer..

our skins have been rated behind the giants all season and rightfully so.

the king of overrated will always be the cowboys.

watch as they win the next two games and the superbowl talk gets going!

only to see them crumble in december....it's gonna be great!

as for our skins, you win and lose in the trenches...we all know this...and it's painfully obvious when our team goes against the big boys, i.e. pittsburgh and ny...

the game vs the giants is a key game in the early Zorn era...

it's going to show who has heart on this team and who lays down...

bottomline, it's on the Oline...man up or clean out your locker...:helmet:
