Interesting Offseason Trade Idea

Threads are cropping up already evaulating Zorn's performance and speculating on the 2009 draft, so I figure we may as well consider all of the offseason possibilities. A number of individuals have already been discussed in the free agent market as well, but I want to get your opinion on a possible trade.

We all know that the Redskins could use a couple more draft picks this year, so why not trade away one of our older quarterbacks to get some picks to spend on younger talent along the offensive and defensive line? With the resurgence of veteran quarterbacks like Kurt Warner, Brett Favre, Kerry Collins and Jeff Garcia, there are teams out there who would love to improve their signal callers. Teams like Detroit, San Francisco, Arizona and Minnesota are all looking for answers.

So what do you think? I bet Zorn still has some left in the tank, and the hair cut alone is worth a late 3rd or early 4th round pick.

no way anyone will trade anything more than a 6th for Todd Collins at this point. I assume you mean Todd Collins since he is the only older QB on our roster. Again no way anyone trades a 3rd or 4th for a career backup that is over 35 years of age. Maybe on Madden though?

No, it was a joke, I was referring to Zorn. Apparently it wasn't very funny.

How many teams would be willing to trade a pick to make it worth it?

Only the Redskins are stupid enough to trade picks for quarterbacks over 30 that they intend to use for the short term. Mark Brunell for a #3 and Brad Johnson for a #1, #2, #3.

Well, the Jets, too, but their front office is on par with the Redskins. Tight end, tight end (sound familiar - Fred Davis), letting Kendall go only to have to fill the guard spot with an old ass high-priced FA, trading Moss for Coles, and so on.

The title should be changed to "Interesting Reading Comprehension Test".

:ols:

As far as adding joke thread, the mods can do so if they want. They haven't already, so I'm guessing they're not going to. I've never understood the whole "joke thread" title. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of what's inside?

Granted, this thread seems to have basically failed at its intended purpose anyway. Maybe it's time for bunnies and pancakes.

I think its a great idea. Call the 49'rs and see if we can get Singletary.

Afterall we need a linebacker.

Actually, that isn't a bad idea. ;)

Valid points! I don't think it failed, by the way :)

I actually thought it was semi-funny. Just not side splitting funny :)
