Is it just me or does anyone feel like Kelly is once again going to be de-activated and Alexander will get activated just because we are playing Seattle? If so that is messed up, Alexander is a has been and Kelly could be and hopefully will be a great WR for us. He needs playing time Alexander doesn't. I'm only saying cause we haven't heard one way or the other and it makes me nervous given the fact that both Zorn and Alexander come from Seattle.

Sorry for the confusion I'm just after whether Kelly or Alexander will be activated. In the handful of articles I read they say that Zorn would have to choose between activating a WR or RB.

First off, Is the question whether kelly will be active, or actually Starting? There is a difference.

Secondly, I think starting at Qwest is the worse thing you could do to a rook.

I know its not the same, but did you read how they have the booming loud speakers at practice to deal with the crowd noise?

At any rate, the Seahawk fans don't have much to cheer about these days. This is a PERFECT game to start a rookie.

We have Portis, Betts, and Cartwright. Alexander's services are no longer needed. He not only should be deactivated, but should also be released ASAP. He adds absolutely nothing to the team.

Toughness..... no

Playmaking ability..... no

Leadership.... no

Experience..... possibly but Portis and Betts have experienced the NFC Beast for several years

MK needs to be activated. Zorn needs to ask himself who can help me win the ballgame against Seattle. The answer is simple. MK can.

Portis has been banged up, Betts has been banged up, Cartwright has never

been a RB like Shaun has been. Why get rid of him when we might need him

if some injuries happen again? Yeah sure, he hasnt been productive, well its

kind of hard to be productive when you havnt played football for a year, and

get something like a total of 12 carries. Trust me, Im not saying he should

get more carries but why get rid of him?? No sense.

And Kelly......WHO KNOWS!? he hasnt been on the field at all this year so

why is everyone so excited for him? I mean yes, i would like to see him do

well, but you are crazy if you think he can step in right away and produce.

Hes been injured all year and as everyone knows WR is one of the hardest

positions to come into at the NFL level and produce right away. And I dont

even understand why Shaun would have to be deactivated to activate

Kelly!? This thread has lost me.

The problem here is that neither Portis or Betts is 100%. It didn't take much for Betts to come off limping last week. I think he pushed himself back to soon. I think if anything Betts should be deactivated if he is not 100%. He'll be more valuable to us the rest of the year so sit him and get him healthy.

Alexander isn't going to be anyone's first choice. That's why he's a BACKUP. But getting rid of him now when neither our starter or first backup is 100 would be foolish. If Zorn wants to activate Kelly there are other ways.

Alexander is like karate: You acquire him in the hopes that you never need to use him. :kungfu:

The whole problem with the poll is the answers do not match the question. The question is will Zorn activate Kelly. Then you have to throw jabs at Alexander when whether or not Kelly is activated may or may not have anything to do with Alexander. I agree he has been a flop and if I see him baby step into contact one more time, I will personally drive to his house and punch him in his face (I know I could win the fight if you have seen how he takes a hit) but activating Kelly is a separate issue. Just glad to have Betts back and hopefully Kelly can start to produce. It would be great to have him contributing if we can hold it together into the playoffs!

I really hope he activates Kelly. We know that with Portis, Betts and Rock we're going to be pretty deep at RB even with Portis and Betts banged up a bit.

As far as WR goes, if Kelly doesn't dress we're looking at:

Santana Moss, ARE, James Thrash, and Devin Thomas

We are getting little to no solid production from Thrash and Thomas right now so teams can match their defenders up one-on-one with them while Santana is being double teamed and ARE is doubled on 3rd down a lot.

We need another gamebreaker in there to keep the double teams off of Santana and ARE.

From Zorn's own account we know that Kelly can has hands of glue and is big and physical enough to make the jump ball. He's also a very good blocker.

Even if he only knows 1/2 of the playbook, we would get more value out of him being activated and put in the game in certain situations than we would out of activating Alexander.

Worst case scenario: Portis and Betts both reaggravate their injuries and Rock has to kick return and be a running back full-time WITH NO ONE TO SPELL HIM. Plus, Alexander has had too few carries to make definitive judgment. You can moan about him not being tough enough, but that one carry in the Dallas game, three defenders were right there to stuff him, and I doubt Portis or Betts would have gained much if they were in his place

If Portis and Betts somehow go out at the same time, they will have James Thrash return kicks, keep Rock running the ball and probably have Mike Sellers spell him
