gaskinsfan
There are things I really like about Zorn. I think that he is a natural leader, and he has built a great environment for the players and coaches. I do think that he is so focused on little things and trying to set things up that it has stymied his offense. I thought Matt Mosely blog this am stated well that coaches who are continually trying to set things up usually don't stay in the league for long... If we continue to struggle on offense, Zorn should look to give up playcalling. This would allow him to be in charge of the team as a whole, he could still suggest things but maybe he would have a better picture of what was going on if he didn't have playcalling duties... Just a thought... go skins!
IbleedBnG83
According to reports, he gets calls from Sherman Smith from upstairs for suggestions. It seems more like playing calling by committee and not all just Zorn, although he has the overall say. I say we let him keep learning, he is in his first year after all and he has done a great job. Now its on the offensiveline, JC, and the WR's to step it up.
Cheers, Beers and Mountaineers
The last two games sure has been painful, but given the circumstances before the season and our first game of the season, it is still damn impressive that Zorn has led us to a 6-4 record right now. His playcalling has been a huge factor in our record right now.
rd421
I think he is doing great! Who would have thought we would have been able to do this much with him in his first year. I would bet if we polled ES and people were honest you would see that the majority of us thought he would not be our head coach next season. robotfire
I know it's hard to preach patience when we appeared to be a good team early on. Still, you've got to be patient. They've done a lot so far this year, and they've definitely exceeded my expectations so far.

RalphZero
Talk about overreacting!! Zorn is the best thing to happen to the Redskins since Beathard/Gibbs. Let's not forget that the Redskins were predicted to go 6-10 this season. I predicted 5-11. Thanks to Danny and Vincy, this team is weak in many crucial areas. Basically O and D Line. Trading a 2nd and 6th round pick to Miami for Jason Taylor. It as only a matter of time before the team started breaking down. The team is patched together with overpriced free agents and outcasts from other teams. Too much pressure is put on the secondary because D-Line can't do anything. The Redskins will finish 6-10 or 7-9 They will not win anymore division games. The Seahawks is the only game left the Redskins could possibly win. They have Seahawks, Ravens and 49ers on the road. Eagles and Giants at home. The Cowboys game was a must win and the Redskins blew it.

We can beat the Bengals, Seahawks, and 49ers. That puts us at 9 wins. The Eagles are looking worse and worse as the season goes on and we should be able to beat them at home. There is no reason we can't go 10-6. What overpriced FA's are on the roster right now??????????????????????

IbleedBnG83
Cowboys game was a MUST win. Now we don't own the tiebreaker over them... BUT....if we beat the the Seahawks and 49ers like we should and have the same or better division record, we still hold a better conference record which serves as a tie breaker. They lost to the Cardinals which may very well come back to haunt them.
Campbell4Clipboard
Zorn's playcalling is not the problem. Our RT allows even the most marginal of pass rushers to run straight at the QB without providing much resistance and JC misses wide open WRs downfield 90% of the time electing a 2yd dumpoff insted. Watch the games, people are open downfield, Zorn obviously isn't designing plays to get 2yds on 3rd and 10.

Yeah we do. We still own the tiebreaker. First tiebreaker is head to head matchup (we split), second is division record (both 2-2), third is conference record (which we are better). smashmouth1980
pfft....it ain't Zorn's fault. The west coast offense is designed to get the ball out of the qb's hand quickly. A lot of slant routes, progression reads and draw plays. It's the line and Jason's aggressiveness! Every once in a while it's good to see your qb go against the playbook and confide in hiw wr's and tell 'em..."go deep!"

And Philly, too...(assuming us and Dallas will both lose to NYG).

Soup
Look back at the tape and on almost every play there is someone open. The only game I didn't like Zorn's play calling was during the Steelers game where he should have run the ball more but Its not his fault the line can't pass block and it takes Jason 5 mins to get to all of his reads. The running game is fine The short and Intermediate passing game is good The only two real problems are the deep passing game and Redzone issues. But if you have an Oline that can't block my grandmother and a QB that waits for moss to run a mile before going to the next read any system would look like crap. Give it time you'll see it will work.
Peregrine
Who else is going to call plays? In case you werent aware, they got rid of anyone with playcalling experience, and instead its the two rookies trying to do it. This team has the talent to make the playoffs, but right now it does not have the offensive coaching for it. I am hoping Zorn will figure things out very soon, but I think that may be unlikely from what I hear.

First tiebreaker is head to head matchup (we split), second is division record (both 2-2), third is conference record (which we are better). Too bad hte season doesn't end today. Even so, the Cowboys are not our only competition for a wild card. We still have two more division games to play... and neither are easy.
BFresh
Zorn should include more Sellers! not just catching, but if you notice, when he's in there just blocking or making lanes for Portis, we tend to dominate the line. IMO. I think we should do less 4 WR sets and more conventional I form until we get a rythym. I still love Z mans play calling.
RiggosMohawk
No he should keep on calling the plays. It's the same voice in Jason's ear all the time... at practice, during games, on the sidelines.
TheItalianStallion
Too early to make this judgement. The team is still learning the system. Once it's implemented, then we'll see.

Dude, if [iNSERT ANOTHER COACHES NAME HERE] were playcalling and we had drafted [iNSERT ANOTHER ROOKIE WR NOT NAMED MALCOLM KELLY OR DEVIN THOMAS HERE] or [iNSERT A ROOKIE DE'S NAME HERE], [AFOREMENTIONED COACH] would have already won the Super Bowl in those 10 games.
