GOSKINS_08
Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Arizona Cardinals running back Edgerrin James, confirmed news reports that his client has asked to be released, but the request was rejected. "We spoke with [general manager] Rod Graves because Edgerrin still believes he is a 1,000-yard back and he is healthy and he is still capable of being a 1,000-yard back for a team," Rosenhaus said. "He is not playing now, and there are teams that are banged up at the running back position that he could help. We didn't get the answer we were hoping for." Graves said on Wednesday evening that Rosenhaus asked if the team would consider releasing James "and we declined it as a consideration." http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3713742

Redskins:Victory_or_Death
I can't wait for the threads to start in the 'The Stadium'... Who can blame him though? He's offically been replaced by Hightower and Arrington.

BAFGA
I guess Tim Hightower has taken over out there. Good for the former Spider.
Mursilis
What a stupid request by his agent - why should the Cards just release him? They've already paid him (more than he deserves, it turned out), and they may need him this season, which looks very likely to result in a playoff appearance. How does releasing him benefit the Cards at all?

What he is asking is that he be released so he can help a team out (Broncos) who are in desperate need of a running back.
pjfootballer
He needs to ride with them to the playoffs. He'll get his release at the end of the year. But who will pay big money for him next year?

I'm not debating WHY he asked to be released - I'm asking WHY he ever thought the Cards would grant such a wish! They get nothing but a roster spot for releasing him, and very well could need him later this season. It's all loss, no gain for them, so why would they even think about it? barens2
Just like a Rosenhous client, their team starts winning, and his client starts complaining.
Dan T.
The Edge has definitely dulled. More like a butter knife now.
[[ghost]]
Edge > alexander I read that James was good friends with a former Miami U RB that was there when he was. I'm 99% sure it was Portis, but I could be thinking of McGahee. Either way, he'd make a great backup to Portis. Though I still would rather draft a speedier backup for Portis.
