Devin Thomas and Malcom Kelly (YAY!!!) to get more p/t!

The Redskins are looking to get rookie WRs Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly more involved in the offense over the final six games.

Don't hold your breath on Kelly, who has been bothered by knee problems all season. Thomas is flashing in practice and is expected to become more involved in game plans going forward. The Redskins passing game has bottomed out the past few weeks and is in dire need of a playmaking element.

I know we must take a wait and see approach, but I cannot imagine how good this team will be once these two monsters get it going! Thomas has shown us flashes of what he might be, but I think Kelly is going to be the stud.

At least it sounds like Zorn is saying WTF our O has been stagnant with what we have, lets at least try to shake it up a little. May do no good, but you gotta try something.

What are you talking about? Thomas has been on the field a lot. He can' get open or run proper routes. Kelly has been hurt. You act like he is keeping them on the bench.

Be prepared to lose. Those guys run like headless chickens on the field.

I have no idea why we did not keep those WRs like Cadwell and Mcardell. At least they could run routes.

This is not the time of the year to get rookie WRs caught up in the offense. Defenses are stepping up now. You do this to start the year.

Now your avatar makes perfect sense

Until last game I would not say he's been on field a lot.

I love Thrash and he has played 3rd wide out a lot. But honestly if you can't get open does it really matter if you run a good route?

So we are about to play an anemic defense and this would no be a good opportunity to let them get reps?

Why play them at the beginning of the year when they are less prepared, and more of a liability, while the team goes out and wins games and goes to 6-4. Now, we need a spark. These rooks have had 10 games to study, play some, learn, and practice for that they can actually make more of a contribution.

 Ever wonder why you have that avatar?

The offense started out pretty good because defenses didnt know what to expect. If you look at the offense now, its the same exact offense we had that struggled last year, and the year before, etc. Thats why we drafted these guys, for more firepower. You think we should have just thrown these guys in from day one when they were struggling to stay healthy and struggling to learn the offense. I think it makes more sense to wait until theyve grasped it a little better, which obviously Zorn thinks is right about now. Especially now since the players we've been relying on for the past several years have proven they need help.

From what Zorn said it sounded like once again Devin Thomas was wide open deep for a TD but the pass protection sucked and Jason couldnt get it off.

Actually he didn't say that. He pinned JC on that one. He made it clear they had the protection on that one play, but JC missed him and dumped it off to Cooley. I suggest you check out his press conference again.

He did say that they couldn't go deep often because of the lack of pass protection, but the deep routes were being ran.

I can see how you got your asshat avatar. Devin Thomas IS getting open, Campbell can't get him the ball because of protection issues. There was a play Sunday where Thomas had AT LEAST 4 steps on the defender and Campbell ****ed back to throw it to him and BOOM! planted in the dirt.

Kelly has been injured, but he knows the scheme he is FINALLY healthy and we're are going to see what he has.

I'm all for giving them more opportunities to prove themselves. I just hope we are not going to play dink and dunk, and that we will, depending on game situation, launch a few deep passes to them.

I'm far from an offensive coordinator, but I drool thinking about having them both on the field at the same time (and them being the only two WRs on the field) along with a max-protect scheme and doing play action. The defense would have no clue who to key on and we'd surely get one on one somewhere.
