Pass Protection can Improve with a Creative Snap Count

I went back and watched my TiVo recording of Sunday's game with Dallas last night. Yes, the protection was bad at times, one on on battles lost, and line stunts not picked up well.

However, I really think the Skins should get more creative at the line of scrimmage with the snap count. On greater than 80% of our offensive plays, we run on "one." Looks like we get to the line, run any motion that is called, get everyone set, and just snap the ball on "one" or "go".....or whatever JC uses to initiated the snap.

It doesn't take a lot of smarts on D to know when to time the play. There were instances in the 2nd half where I was sure Dallas jumped offsides, but it ended up that they just timed the snap well.

This seems like a little wrinkle they should adjust or add to the game plan. All assuming we can get the play in from the sideline, have the right personnel in the game, and know where to line up. Man, it really doesn't seem that difficult. Or is it? There're professionals, right?

Love to get some thoughts??

Great idea. I noticed alot of plays where the DAllas D seemed to be exploding off the line close to, if not before, the snap count. Adjusting the snap count could grab us some easy penalties and get us in some short first down situations, taking a little bit of the pressure off campbell and helping to sustain our drives.

On the flipside, Romo sits to pee ran the play clock down to 1 more than once last weekend. If you're a defensive end, you've gotta be salivating at that point - you literally know when the ball is going to be snapped, unless he bails into a timeout, in which case you're ok anyway.

Yet we got no jump on them.
