halter91
Mine, Laron Landry. Virtually a non factor. Never hear his name called, I don't know if it's because he was nicked up this year with the Hammy, but even last night never heard his name. Never the 1st person in on a play, usually delivers a hit after the other player is held up. He's just not making plays, Maybe it's because we are so used to ST(RIP) being virtually everywhere. Even Horton is everywhere. A 2nd player.....Jason Taylor....once again rarely hear his name mentioned. Not all negative....the players who have stepped up....Fletcher, Rocky McIntosh, Carlos Rogers. :dallasuck:eaglesuck:gaintsuck
WVUforREDSKINS
Not hearing his name called is a good thing IMO.. He is taking away the deep ball and therefore, the ball doesn't often go near him.
Stophovr6
I was thinking this last night. There's got to be something wrong with the kid. He is too good for this. Hopefully it's just a nagging injury and we can look at this season as a sophomore slump type deal. As for Jason Taylor, I hope we don't extend this guys contract, he should go back to dancing. But teams are going deep and succeeding. Sean Taylor took away the deep ball because teams were NEVER able to go deep when our secondary was 100%. IF they tried, Taylor was making a play for the ball. I've seen quite a few deep balls this season and Landry is not making plays for them.:2cents:
HBnotBlades
Landry? How many deep balls have we seen completed near Landry this year? He's doing a pretty good job back there. He's also playing 20+ yards off the line of scrimmage most of the time, so if he's the first guy in on a tackle some things has gone horribly wrong. If you don't hear the name of the guy who's back there playing center field, he's probably doing a pretty good job.

Laron Landry is playing good, we were just spoiled by how good Sean Taylor was and we are use to him being all over the field. I guess what I am trying to say is, Landry is good, but he is no Sean Taylor. Edit: My most disappointing Redskins: It;s a tie between Randle El and Rabach. I can say that our offensive problems are directly because of them, but they have a big part in the problem imo.
TheRedfishCo
Landry has not made any big plays this year. Yes he makes tackles but that's only when they are already in the second level. He never breaks up any passes and will delivery the "big hit" when the guy has already caught the ball and is too late. Where was he on the Bennett TD? Oh yeah he was late as always. pastha40
I would say the D line, Jason Taylor in particularly, for complete inabililty to pressure opposing QB's. Also Sean Springs, who has played one game and is among the highest paid players on the team.:dallasuck

Seemed to me like the Steelers were able to throw pretty deep into our secondary to Hines Ward. And where was Landry on that 19 yard TD last night? That's not a short route. We're among the league leaders in preventing pass plays of 40+. We're 5th best in the league in terms of yards allowed per pass play. Landry's not going to be stopping people at the line or even jumping slants and outs when Blache has him playing 15-20 yards back. I think people have a selective memory when it comes to Taylor. Yes, he made people pay for some of the deep shots they took, but there were a couple that got by him as well.

I don't see the same Landry I saw last year. If you do, that's fine. I don't.
Voice_of_Reason
This thread proves that some fans don't watch the games. They are playing Landry almost exclusively in a single saftey 30 yards off of the ball. He's moved to Free Safety after the death of #21. He's playing great. He's broken up a number of deep balls. Lay off.
Never4get#21
Defense: Jason Taylor and Andre Carter....Absolutely USELESS. No pass rush and not good against the run. Obvious heal of the defense. Offensive: ARE. He should excell in this offense. Where has he been all year?
HBnotBlades
Where was he on the Bennett TD? Oh yeah he was late as always. You mean when he was on the right side of the field and the ball was thrown to the left? Bennett had two defenders on him, are you saying Landry should have let TO run free on the other side so we could put the rookie TE in triple coverage? Teams aren't testing him deep. When they do throw deep, they've been throwing away from Landry. That should say something.
SittingBull
Look at Sean Taylor's second year. It's eerily similar to Landry's where if you looked at his stats on paper they are pretty pedestrian but if you actually watch the game and see how he makes offenses avoid him you'd see how important he was. Burgold
Randle El. I am a fan of his but he has been missing in action this year.
kingfish50
My biggest disappointment? Jason Taylor. Where in the hell was that pass rush last night? Might as well have given Tony Romo sits to pee a lounge chair and a beer. He had so much time in the pocket, it was like being on vacation. HBnotBlades
Really? Because we lost to St Louis on a deep ball and field goal. And we blitzed Landry on that play so they took a shot... The secondary is not the problem on this defense. They've all done an amazing job with our ineptitude of getting to the QB.
Peytskins47
ARE without a doubt. He is a total non factor as a punt returner. He might be the best fair catcher in the league. He has not done much at wide out either. On that pretty big gainer last night he acted like he had scored a TD. Just give the ball to the ref and get back to the huddle. Your job is to catch passes, you don't have to celebrate.
[[ghost]]
Landy is strictly a Coverage Safety. You don't want to hear his name. He's taking the deep ball away. This just makes Horton look better because it shows he good of a SS he really is. Notice how the one time time Landry blitzesld we got a pick. JeepRyder
Jason Taylor and Andre Carter. I think they have like 3 sacks between them. They were hyped as possibly the best DE tandem we've had in a long time. Since carter isnt making plays on his side I say move Jason taylor back to that side where he is comfortable and see if that gets him going and then Carter can go back to the left side and do nothing over there. At least maybe we can get Taylor going putting him back where he belongs.
