DieHard86
Portis had just made that great run to the Cowboys' 17 in the third quarter, Skins led 10-7. Portis comes out, Alexander in. The game was lost here. Just like in Seattle in the playoffs after Mix recovered the kickoff. Three incompetent plays followed by a missed field goal. The team still has this mentality that they're not supposed to pull away or take advantage of anything. 1st and 10 at DAL 37(5:24) C.Portis right end to DAL 17 for 20 yards (K.Davis, K.Hamlin). 1st and 10 at DAL 17(4:38) J.Campbell pass incomplete deep right to A.Randle El [D.Ware]. 2nd and 10 at DAL 17(4:34) J.Campbell pass short left to S.Moss to DAL 20 for -3 yards (T.Newman). Pass tipped by 94-D.Ware 3-13-DAL 20 (3:51) J.Campbell sacked at DAL 28 for -8 yards (J.Ratliff). 4th and 21 at DAL 28(3:22) S.Suisham 46 yard field goal is No Good, Short, Center-E.Albright, Holder-R.Plackemeier. shk75
Once again this is because we do not get big chunks of yards at a time. We have to grind it out every freakin drive and if one mistake is made (sack, penalty, dropped pass) we just stall.
RedskinsNation
It still boggles my mind how we ended up with 0 points on that drive. That smoke screen hasnt worked since 2005 I dont think...DAMMIT.

The game was lost here. Yeah, I agree. I was completely livid at this point. No idea what the thinking was there. You can't help but wonder why we didn't give the ball to portis 3 more times right there. or at least leave him in there to setup the play action. hail2skins
Tell you what, in that 3rd down at the 20, given the game situation, there are two things you don't want to do: turn the ball over or take a sack. If you suspect your line is vulnerable, roll Jason out or something. Sometimes playing defense on offense can be beneficial.
Stugein
9 drives, one touchdown. I'm still sick to my stomach over this. I didn't know where else to put this, but it didn't need it's own thread. I just had to get it out. ... I'm just so tired of watching us march down the field only to go tits up when we get into scoring position. I get nervous as hell any time we're between the opponent's 30 and 5 and I'm sick of it. You said it...everytime we get in scoring position and I want to get excited I simply tell myself "what's the point?" because there's no reason to believe we'll be able to punch it in. CounterTrey
Guys I was so mad at our O and JC for the 2 drives in the 3rd quater where at worst we should have come away with 2 field goals and 6 points. On one drive JC throws a stupid pick and then the next drive takes a horrible sack. Everyone in our section was saying throw it away, throw it away. I'll post my vantage point and what I saw from where I was sitting later on tonight. I focused on several players throughout the game and I saw some interesting stuff that no ones on TV. skinstzar
I'm not surpised they didn't score. Other than the Sellers touchdown how many plays actually took place in the endzone? This game is on the coaching staff. Mainly Jim Zorn. He has shown a lot of great things for a first year coach. Play calling is not one of them. Look at how few times Jason Campbell has thrown into the endzone this year. If you don't atleast give the illusion that you pass the ball across the gaol line from 30 and in it makes it easy for teams to defend you. It makes it a lot easier for teams to defend when they know they can put 8 in the box and keep the passing game in front of them in the red zone. It makes it easy for teams to sit on Cooley and moss and Randle el are much easier to defend when the only thing that will happen if they run by you is they will run into the tunnel. This is why this team loses. Joe Gibbs did the same thing.
