No Portis means no victory

Tonight, the Washington Redskins can take a huge step toward making the playoffs in the National Football Conference. Standing in their way, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys are probably the most disappointing team in the NFL this season, despite all the injuries they have suffered.

Rookie Felix Jones, a threat to score each and every time he touches the football, will not play again tonight due to a leg injury, while the Redskins may be faced with playing without the league’s top rusher in Clinton Portis.

Making his comeback tonight is Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo sits to pee, who broke his pinkie finger on his throwing hand during the Dallas loss to the surprising Arizona Cardinals.

If the Redskins have to play without Portis, the game will be one of high scoring and big plays and that my friend favors the Cowboys.

Although the Redskins have played above their heads this season, despite having a better record than the Cowboys, it seems all the pressure of this game is on Washington.

Everyone that is ‘not’ a Redskins fan is waiting for the shoe to drop on their season and that will begin tonight on NBC-4.

Jim Zorn has come in and done what Joe Gibbs couldn’t do with today’s game and that is compete. The game had passed Gibbs by and Zorn is just what the Redskins needed.

Don’t worry Redskins fans, the grass is much greener on the Zorn side than it was on the Gibbs side and playoffs are very much in your team’s future — and could still be in this year’s plans.

But the success is coming way too soon for this team, that without Portis is looking for someone to count on and that will be Jason Campbell.

The excuse of Campbell playing under a new offensive coordinator each and every year is over-played.

He is an NFL quarterback and Brett Favre has shown it doesn’t matter what scheme you must play in, if you are a true NFL quarterback you can do it.

Campbell has a chance tonight to put any doubts to bed, however, Dallas won’t allow that to happen.

Dallas will send linebackers and safety blitzes all night and Campbell, who may not have Portis, or receiver Santana Moss, will have no one to turn to on offense.

Dallas could run away with this one early and that is what will happen.

Dallas 38, Washington 13.

The Cowboys arent going to score 38 aginst our D. I can see us having trouble scoring again and losing a close game, but it would be more like 21-13. No one gives the Skins D much credit.

I say we move the ball well as usual but still get 2 scores and 3 FGs and pull out a close one 23-20.

I can definately see this happening. JC cannot carry this team, he has never shown any ability to win games with his arm. If we score more then 2 TDs without CP i would be absolutely shocked. However 38pts for Dallas is a bit much, the D will play inspired football as they always do but offense will stink it up again in primetime.

Skins 13

Dallas 27

One other point is that Mr. "True NFL QB" Brett Favre went from one WCO based system to another WCO system.

This is after so many years of running a west coast system.

All this "learning offense" BS is nothing but an excuse for bad QB play. In today's NFL you don't have 10 years to learn an offense. JC has played in Gibbs, Saunders and Zorn offense and he has been mediocre all along. This is his last chance to be a starter in the NFL. We've been more then patient with him and so far he has compiled a losing record and very mediocre stats. Favre is a 1st ballot HOFer you can put him in any offense and he'll make plays. We should've traded a 2nd for him instead of JT to be honest.

Well, I would agree we're probably in a for another long day on offense tomorrow. We haven't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard this year. (But our D will keep it close)

But that's no reason to rent a QB for year or two. We needed to see if #17 was the real deal. We had to find out.

I'm going to go ahead and call this article garbage! He needs to check a couple of his facts and I do believe Santana Moss is playing tomorrow night, correct me if I'm wrong. The 38 points he is predicting against our D just makes my head hurt.[

This is an article written by some guy from a local newspaper in Northern Virginia? We don't give any credance to Don Banks or Peter King, but we are worried about this guys opinion?

I think Santana Moss is going to score 4 TD's tomorrow. Both opinions have about the same weight.

Hall returns two INT for TD and our D shuts down the cowpukes to just 17 points. One team I remember scored just 13 points and that was from FG only. Why because their D shut down the other team from scoring more then 7 points.

Redskins can pull this off as long as they don't make stupid mistakes like the one they made in the Rams game.

Get off the colt bandwagon, jc's not that bad, c'mon only 3 int's in 8 games, give the man a break ! And whats with the gay glown

It's actually 2 INTs but he also only has 8TD passes and when we can't run the football he looks bad. He has been this way for 3 years now, this team isn't going anywhere with JC at QB.

Portis is a superb back but a lot of his success has been due to the offensive line blocking. Brian Baldinger and Sterling Sharpe noted the week 4 match-up and how the Skins O-line got to the second level. "All the bowling lanes are open" they said.

I think the downhill approach of Betts will be just fine.

We'll be alright.:applause:
