Rdskn4Lyf21
I have been and I've been just a little bit vocal about it. We will have a shiny new Lombardi for Redskins park in the next 3 years.

Mass_SkinsFan
In a single word..... NO. To expound..... HELL NO. I look at this team and I see a pretty package that is completely and totally rotten inside. A fruit that once the outside skin is cut open spills rotted guts and maggots onto the table. I don't even know where to begin, because once I do I won't be able to stop. In my mind there are massive issues with ownership, the front office, the coaching staff, the systems, roster, player acquisition, and almost every other area of the team. Unless something drastic changes I do not see this team competing for another Lombardi Trophy until at least the end of the next decade.

REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
I'm not optimistic about Kelly YET. I want to be, but I got a feelin this dude is going to be a injury prone player for his entire career (knock on wood). He got injured again yesterday and though it looks like a minor injury, I have this small feeling that we should not have drafted him. They say his knee is TERRIBLE. But he seems optimistic about it so I guess we'll see.......
redskinss
i am, but not this year. I dont see this team being very competitive this year especially the way the nfc east is , but i do like what ive seen from zorn so far, he seems to have that it factor that you look for in coaches and i believe that snyder saw that and it is why he decided to bypass the coordinator position and offer him the head coaching spot. Actually the only problem in your list so far as I see is the "homer fans". I like the colors, location, logo and name. They're a big part of why I became a Redskins fan to begin with almost thirty years ago. I don't have the option of picking another team. The Redskins are the only team I follow or watch. I highly doubt that there's even another team out there that I could root for in this day and age. So the team is so screwed up it will take 10 plus years to straighten it out? Rdskn4Lyf21
MSF, I really believe it makes you more upset when we win. When that happens, you can't help but feel your hopes lifting, even the slightest, and that pisses you off because you worry so much about them being shot down. FunBunch7
EVERY TEAM can be gutted and completely re-done in as little as 2 years. Here are some head lines that you might have stumbled accross as little a couple of years ago... "Carson Palmer finally has the Bengals headed in the right direction!" "After going 3-13 amidst Katrina, the Saints are re-building." (Made the NFC Championship the next year) "After starting 6-2 and finishing 8-8 and backing into the playoffs, the Giants need to start over." (Won Super Bowl the next season) Bottom line people...whats NOT to be excited about with this team...and I'm not even talking about ANY of the players that are on it. The jury is still very much out on JC...Portis probably has this season and next season left...Moss, the same thing and once one of our rookie WRs step up in a year or two, Moss will be a cap casualty. Jason Taylor has maybe next year... None of that matters...the landscape changes so rapidly that Matt Cassel might end up our QB in 2009 (just an example). We have an owner willing to pay tooth and nail to get us the players to make it happen...so far it hasn't worked out but when I think of ownership I have to look no further than my own back yard here in Arizona...the Bidwills will not pay Anquan Boldin and look what he does... Dan Synder ROCKS!!!! There is only ONE thing I want from my owner...his check book and his pen!!! FUTURE BRIGHT!

LaRon Landry*-Yah, boyeee Matt Sinclair#Did'nt even need him yet Chris Wilson-Good reliever Reed Doughty*-Might be losing his starting job due to great drafting-did I say that? Kedric Golston*-Outplayed his pardner Rocky McIntosh*-What knee injury? How amazing is that? Anthony Montgomery-Good reliever Shaun Suisham*-Missed two, but touchbacks, touchbacks? Leigh Torrence-even when beaten, was not Jimoh'd Rian Wallace#Did'nt even need him yet Jason Campbell*-Can he keep going, only 23 starts, season is 16. When that happens, you can't help but feel your hopes lifting, even the slightest, and that pisses you off because you worry so much about them being shot down. Some day you are going to sit back and wish you hadn't spent your life so angry and bitter. In a certain way I do get more upset when we win. I'll explain why. We won yesterday which means we won't hear anything about..... - The fact that we should have been up 31-0 at the half. - The fact that I've seen high schools show better Special teams play than what we saw yesterday. - The fact that we needed a 14 point comeback in the last 9 minutes to win - The fact that our Pro Bowl halfback continues to run into piles of players rather than looking for holes to run through - The fact that our pass defenders are playing 5-8 yards off the receiver on every single play. (I'm a slow, short white guy and I believe I'D get a 5 yard cushion against those DB's) Bitter and angry is the only life I've ever known. Without it I don't know if I'd actually be able to function. Winning does not cure all evils. It just covers them up in a layer of glitter and mirrors that make people ignore them. was your username originally supposed to be massochist skins fan but you cut it short for some reason? No. If anything I'm a sadist, not a massochist. ---Redskins the only team you follow or watch for?, but you go on to say there is no other team you could root for? Do you even root for the Redskins Mass? You seem happier when they lose. Has your blind hatred for Snyder tainted your love of the B&G? I do not watch or follow any team other than the Redskins. I haven't in YEARS. Hell, I probably couldn't even name all 31 of the other teams in the league at this point, never mind their coaches, players, etc.... That would make it pretty difficult to root for another team. Yes, I do root for the Redskins. I just hold them to a higher set of criteria than other people do. Believe it or not when he first showed up I was a big supporter of Snyder. I continued to be right up to the points in time where he: a. Voted to extend the existing CBA b. Started allowing his team to be turned into the sort of gutless pansies that the NFL now requires to win in this league.

Philly (ok that may be a loss) at. Dallas (ok another loss) vs. Rams (they STINK...WIN) vs. Browns (Braylon Edwards what the hell happend to you? Winnable game) at Lions (are you kidding me WIN) vs. Steelers (close game but probably a loss) vs. Cowboys (I see us splitting with the NFC East again so I'll say that's a Win *especially us coming off our bye and we'll be healed up*) at. Seahawks (we don't play very well up there but they STINK this year...always been overrated to me but I'll say we lose a close game) vs. Giants (Revenge...Win) at. Ravens (Win) at. Bengals (are you kidding me...win) vs. 49ers (J.T. Who? They suck too WIN) That's 10-6 right there!

Again, ANOTHER new offense *Patience Dude* - The fact that I've seen high schools show better Special teams play than what we saw yesterday. Can't argue with that! - The fact that we needed a 14 point comeback in the last 9 minutes to win Against an "Explosive Offense" Gibbs 2.0 only scored 14 pts in the fourth quarter ONCE! - The fact that our Pro Bowl halfback continues to run into piles of players rather than looking for holes to run through as you saw he DID take it outside for yards and went up the middle for his SECOND touchdown. - The fact that our pass defenders are playing 5-8 yards off the receiver on every single play. Mass_SkinsFan
Again, ANOTHER new offense *Patience Dude* Patience is an attribute that I possess none of. I never have and likely never will. Against an "Explosive Offense" Gibbs 2.0 only scored 14 pts in the fourth quarter ONCE! Joe Gibbs is no longer the coach of this team, therefore what Joe did is completely and totally irrelevant to this conversation. We're talking about Jim Zorn's offense. as you saw he DID take it outside for yards and went up the middle for his SECOND touchdown. Yes he did. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to have the vision to take it outside when the play isn't originally designed to go there. If it's an inside run that's called and there's a pile of players at the Point of Attack he just runs it right up in there and lets himself be tackled. Second Half Adjustments...BUMP n RUN. I'm not so sure that I saw as much close coverage in the second half as you apparently did. Then again I'm the sort of person who doesn't believe in Zone defense so that probably doesn't help on this issue.

ttr77
My optimism is very cautious. I'm hoping they can pull off 7 wins this year, but I don't see any wins against the NFC East...which means they need to go 5-3 outside the division from here on out. Not an easy task. We can sit here and point towards all the rookies and young players on the roster, but they need to get younger on both lines before they will see long-term success. They have a few young players on the lines, but at this point they are for the most part backups, and expecting them to become great starters is pretty presumptuous at this point. Until this team gets out of the vicious cycle of using high and mid round picks as trade bait to fill holes that were created by throwing away high and mid round picks in previous years, I fear we may never see true long-term success.
