Why our records show Thomas and Kelly wont be any different

Gardner and McCants were Marty picks and are out of the league. Jacobs was a Spurrier pick and is out of the league. Cliff Russell was a speedster project that never panned out and is surprisingly still playing in the NFL.

So, I say we're really 0 for 1 since 2000, not counting this year's class. The people responsible for the other 3 are gone.

What is wrong with this site and the people who post on here? Is the team expected to win every game, draft rookies that make an immediate impact, get a new owner, break the bank on a guy in FA no matter if he fits your system or not, and everything will be alright. Thomas and Kelly were the two of the top rated WR's in the draft and everyone on here was calling for us to draft them among other guys that aren't even on teams. Manningham, Sweed, and others that were rated among them aren't even playing. So are they considered busts also? or Are they given the benefit of the doubt because they can sit and watch the first team WR's on those teams until they learn the offense? You guys sound like the so-called "experts."

I try not to judge a player before he even takes the field for the team.

Great to know that YOU are such a football expert that you KNOW Malcolm Kelly is going to be a bust.

What, did George Halas come to you in your sleep and whisper in your ear?

Put down the crack pipe and give your brain a chance.

Of course I wish our guys had had immediate impacts like jackson or royal, but that is more the exception than the rule. While I agree that both these guys could be potential busts, it is WAYYYYY to early to say that. They also could be potential all stars. Time will tell. Why is this thread still open?

Those WRs were taken by different coaches for different schemes than what we currently run. How many times have the Browns failed at drafting various positions? A lot. Yet Edwards, Winslow (who many wrote off as a bust) and Joe Thomas all look legit.

To go even further, until Cooley when was the last time we drafted a good TE? Robert Royal, Stephen Alexander, Jamie Asher, all busts. I guess that means our records show Cooley won't be any good, especially since we apparently aren't looking before 2001.

I guess Roethlisberger won't be any good since the Steelers haven't drafted a good QB since Bradshaw in 1970.

Since this website has been nothing but Debbie Downskins , figured I'd put in my two cents ....

WR's we have drafted since 2001

2001

Round 1 - Rod Garner

Round 5- Darnerien McCants

2002

Round 3 - Cliff Russel

2003

Round 2 - Taylor Jacobs - We are 0 for 4 ... ALL BUSTS

Took chances on 4 different guys. All 4 were terrible. Why should these be any different?

Hopefully the difference will be to stick with Campbell and realize ONCE AGAIN he is learning a NEW OFFENSE .. Give him time & let him learn. Although I know we are all tired of waiting to win , and unfortunately by the time he does learn .. The clock might be over for Thomas and Kelly as Redskins ....

:(

The more misses we have the more likely we finally get a hit. That is just how odds work.

I'd quote this multiple times for multiple truths if it wouldn't look so long. :applause:

There's no room for that logic around here!
