ABQCOWBOY
I know that most of you are probably not TO fans and I understand that. Heck, I was not a big fan of signing TO when we did it. There are lots of things he does that are a bit over the top for me. Keeping a Sharpie in his sock, gettting the Pop Corn ready and waiting, I'm not a big fan of any of that stuff but the penalty he got last Sunday for pretending he was a sprinter in the blocks, to me, was not a big deal. What did you guys think of it?

What did you guys think of it? Being a Cowboys fan, of course, he should know better. While I think he's learned his lessons from the past, some of his bad habits have continued to linger with him. If he pulls more stunts like this in close games, it could cost us. However-we would be 8-8(at best) without him. So I can't complain.

jrockster21
They made a rule - you can't go to the ground as part of your celebration. He did. End of story.
bubba9497
They made a rule - you can't go to the ground as part of your celebration. He did. End of story. Bingo, he knows the rule and his doing his shtick, shows how much TO hasn't changed, he's more concerned in promoting himself (and his dumb, he can beat Bolt comments) than his team, and giving up 15 yards on the kick off
SonOfWashington
Penalty, yes. But I believe he was fined, too, which seemed unneccessary to me.
ABQCOWBOY
They made a rule - you can't go to the ground as part of your celebration. He did. End of story. I'm not saying he didn't commit a foul. I'm just asking if you think that that is too far on behalf of the NFL. I mean, it really was not that big of a deal. I liken it to dunking the ball over the goal post. When you do that, your acting as if your playing basketball. Not really much difference to me. I do understand why the penalty was called but I guess I just don't think it was any big deal.
skinfan2k
I love Terrell Owens regardless of his antics. He seems to have developed chemistry among his teammates and his QB
BillyKilmer
Hey it didn't cost the cowboys anything really and he got the face time he craves in the highlight shows. I can't stand T.O. but I wish we had a guy with that much talent just less self-centered.

Cassow
He should know the rule inside and out. When he went to the sidelines he seemed to question why he was penalized and you could see running back coach Skip Peete tell him it was a penalty because he "went to the ground". No excuse though, him and ocho cinco should be well versed in the rule. It better not happen again. Edit: Since going to the ground is a penalty...will they also penalize players for taking a knee and praying? Or is that not considered a celebration? Dance04
Technically he did break the rule, so he did need to get penalized. However, I personally don't think it warranted a penalty.

Spec138
To me, or to a typical joe? To you, but it's off topic so it doesn't really matter. It just seems like someone on ES would have thicker skin than to be offended by a prayer

CM916
I do miss CP's celebrations. I've never understood how these rules help the league in the long run by taking away some entertainment value. Of course, TO goes way over the edge and ruined it for everyone else. They made these rules for guys like him. "What's wrong with my cartwheel?"_CP
ciscofan
He got flagged as he should have no big deal. Maybe he forgot. If he didn't forget, then he is selfish. No biggie...
[S.S.F. | Nero]
Maybe he was flagged & fined due to how utterly embarrassing and awkward the entire sequence was for everyone involved, including the viewing public. Look at his teammate Jason Witten running over to congratulate him for his contribution to the "team" effort, but, shocker, TO is too worried about his sprinting form....Witten realizes that TO is up to his neck in CowCrap and slyly backs away.... Upon passing the "point of no return" in this clearly misguided attempt at CTC (or Choreographed Touchdown Celebration), TO is then rudely interrupted a second time and is unable to complete the charade due to..........more of those pesky congratulatory teammates!!! How could they so arrogantly run into his path!!!! It was a debacle all the way around.
royallypwned
if I were Witten, I would have improvised and joined in the celebration by pretending to shoot a gun into the air.

I can't stand T.O. but I wish we had a guy with that much talent just less self-centered. I second that motion and for the record, I don't think what he did warrented a penalty or a fine. Tom [Giants fan]
I think as a society we are becoming pansies and getting carried away with trying to protect everyone's feelings. That being said, I hate Owens so any penalty or fine he gets, I'm ok with.
RedskinsNation
I dont think it was penalty-worthy...but I guess the rule book says otherwise. Honestly, he had all summer to come up with something...that was it? I expect better celebrations from T.O. to be honest.
