BRAVEONAWARPATH
Good man. Made his millions writing Songs!?!?(what is rap songs or poetry readings) about killing, rapeing and madhem. Yeah good example for the young generation. Yeah...ok.
dcnativenerd
Celebrity endorsements=A massive waste of everyone's time People actually taking celebrity endorsements seriously=Proof that the intelligence level in this country is in a free fall. Diddy isn't a political insider, folks. Let's start thinking for ourselves. Okay? Okay.

dockeryfan
I listened to it. Diddy takes himself too seriously and he sounds like an idiot. He's not coming up with any new ideas anyway, he's just regurgitating the salient points others have already made. In a much less eloquent manner. dcnativenerd
I agree with you but I'm perplexed as to why some people are so upset that Diddy is speaking his mind. I'm not sure. The OP gave it a NSFW tag and right now, my mother is in the room, so when I'm alone, I'll get this a look see. If I were to wager a guess, though, it's probably because of Diddy's personality. It's no secret that he can be a bit narcassistic, and people don't like that.
Special K
He's made more money with his clothing line than he has as a music mogul. The man has a very diversified portfolio. His clothing line does well because of his name recognition from music. It's "cool" because it has his name on it. Paris Hilton has made a lot of money and has a diversified portfolio...doesn't mean I think she's in any way intelligent. Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen were millionaires before they reached adolescence...and it wasn't due to their intelligence or business finesse, it was because they had smart advisers. These people have a team of advisers around them 24/7 helping them market themselves. I think their advisers are intelligent, but most of the celebrities themselves...no. Mister Happy
I agree with Diddy. McCain is buggin, but not for those reasons. Obama is also buggin. Delaware? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYdb1ZcHizg

And since I'm neither disenchanted nor conservative...I don't think thats the path for me.
RDSKNfaithfull
I believe "diddy" actually does have a college education. I know he went to Howard U. He may come off as ignorant to a some extent but he is not stupid. At least the man cares about what is going on with the country and makes some effort to get involved. That's funny because, I spent part of my childhood in SoCal and my views on celebrities are completely different than yours. I think they're entitled to opinions..just like you or I. That doesn't mean they are necessarily the right opinions.....but by the same token our opinions (yours and mine) might not be correct either. Yeah good example for the young generation. he doesn't write the songs, he produces the tracks mostly. add to that being head of one of the more successful record companies, a successful clothing line, restaurants, film & tv production deals, and you'll see his millions have come from a number of different places. Of course they are entitled to their opinions, I've never said anything to the contrary. What I do have a problem with is when someone uses their "celebrity status" to push their political agenda. And it's a double whammy for me when they are using their status to push a political agenda AND talk like an uneducated idiot to boot. In our celebrity-obsessed culture these days, making it seem "cool" to talk and act like a frickin moron while spewing out the "F" word everything 2 seconds has contributed to the dumbing down of our society, particularly in regards to our youth. But you're right, celebrities have the right to say whatever they want. Just as I have the right to call them uneducated morons who are completely out of touch with the reality that exists outside their little Hollywood bubble. BRAVEONAWARPATH
What I do have a problem with is when someone uses their "celebrity status" to push their political agenda. People use thier celebrity status to push thier issues all of the time. Whether it be the AIDS epidemic in Africa, the situation in Darfur etc. That being the case, I don't know why we shouldn't expect celebrities to express thier political views if they wish. Heck, I express mine all the time. And when they do express thier views, we all can consider the merit of what they've said and make a decision for ourselves. Isn't that what we do on this message board?

BigMike619
Someone should let Diddy know there are more Eskimos in Alaska then in NYC. That should take him about an hour to process and may just blow his mind.

Isn't that what we do on this message board? First, pushing a philanthropic cause is way different than pushing a political agenda. Secondly, no. What P. Diddy was doing is not even remotely close to what we are doing on this message bored. We are all on the same level here having a discourse with one another. None of us posters are coming in with celebrity status, using our celebrity status to target a certain population (in Diddy's case, the younger demographic who are so impressionable they go out and sign up to vote b/c MTV told them to), and using that status to push our own agenda. Diddy trying to get young people to vote is no different than you or I trying to register young people to vote. If his celebrity makes people more interested in the process...good. Sometimes you need unorthodox methods to bring people to the table.
Prosperity
???It's not about looking "down" on people. It's common sense. If an 18-19-20 y/o or whatever the MTV target audience is has to have their hand held through the voting process...they shouldn't be voting. What do you mean by 'hands held'? I mean, what do you think voter registration drives are? Overall are they less informed? Yes, probably, but they have to start participating some time, and if registering to vote leads most of them (the ones that register and vote) to better participate in our democracy, then yes I think it's good. But how informed do you have to be to be considered a good enough to vote. I imagine the people that draw this line, draw it at around the level of knowledge that they think they posses. (hence the look down on comment. ) Assume they are not up to the task, and they never will be. Thankfully, our constitutional republican form of democracy has a lot of vetting steps, so no matter who they are going to be voting for, it will likely be a legit candidate. MissU28
Come on, Brave..give it up. You can't honestly say Diddy sounds educated in that clip. And you can't honestly say you'd want your son or daughter to use that clip and its ridiculous "evidence" to help them decide who to vote for in the election. You don't mind it because it leans your way...if it were Chuck Norris saying Obama was buggin the f*** out, you'd have the same opinion as me and keeastman and the rest of the people who are looking at this sanely. But...Chuck Norris wouldn't sound like Diddy, and you know that. Chuckie boy would speak intelligently and wouldn't be cussing every 5 seconds.
