No_Pressure
So it's roughly 9:45 (15 minutes ago) and it's clearly a nice, serene morning. The air is cool and crisp, the birds are singing outside my open window. There is only one problem. It's never this bright out when I go to work at 5:30. I look over at the clock, and it's flashing 4:02. I frantically jump out of bed and run downstairs to pick up my charging cell phone and I have a missed call from my boss (I do landscaping). I call him back and he jokes with me upon answering the phone saying: "Montgomery County Missing Person's Department..." and wasn't pissed off since we had a very light workload today and I've never been even 1 minute late for anything the past 2 years. How many times has this happened to everybody else? I constantly forget to pick up one of those 9 volt batteries to put in my alarm clock so it will stay on if the power goes out, and if I don't have a blaring alarm pulling me out of my peaceful sleep I flat out just don't wake up. Heidenreich
It happened to me once. Since then I use my cell phone as my alarm clock......
No_Pressure
I would use my cell phone but it isn't quite loud enough for me and half the time I don't wake up, or wake up right away. I mean I'm talking like...I had a dream one time that there was a loud siren going off everywhere I went, and I woke up to find that my alarm had been going off for the past 15 minutes. Get Pissed
Just like what many people have said already, I too do the Cell Phone alarm. It wakes me up every time on Alarm Only and it is at the foot of my nightstand. It helps that my alarm clock tone is "When the Saints Go Marching In" because that SOB gives me a heart attack everytime I hear that first trumpet blair
frommd
I have to be at work at 4AM every day. I use two alarm clocks. The clock-radio next to the bed and a battery powered one across the room. I stagger them. If I wake up by the first, I just turn the other one off. The second is the one that guarantees I have to get up.

I know, I always forget though. I have to be at work at 4AM every day. I use two alarm clocks. The clock-radio next to the bed and a battery powered one across the room. I stagger them. I used to do this when I had something really important to wake up for, it always worked well.

I stagger them. If I wake up by the first, I just turn the other one off. The second is the one that guarantees I have to get up. that's my plan (use my cell for the backup). before that, though, in my first year of teaching, i had my boss call at 7:30 (start of class) asking if i was coming in that day. man, that was embarassing. showered, shaved, dressed, and made the 15 minute drive to work all in about 20 minutes. that's the only time when work's been involved. i have been disturbingly jolted out of a peaceful slumber by the airport ride-share van driver. and i hadn't finished packing yet. oops. PokerPacker
My alarm clock has a battery back up, so not only will it keep the correct time if the power goes out, but the alarm still goes off (though for some reason the alarm sounds different from the battery, I guess maybe the battery alarm takes less power?) Destino
My cell is my alarm so this never happens. iphones have great alarms too being that I can set it to weekdays and thus don't have to turn it off and on.

IONTOP
I use my cell phone... Set it to vibrate and the most annoying ringtone I have, place it under my pillow, so when it goes off, I've got an annoying movement and an ear piercing sound right into my ear... That'll wake you up... Plus my phone lets you pick the days you want it to go off... Like when school starts I can set it for MWF
