Naked man wrestles officers after disturbance call at Little Rock hotel

A disturbance at a Little Rock hotel Thursday ended with police officers subduing a naked man in the lobby.

Officers were called at 6:15 a.m. to a Ramada Inn at 8 Shackleford Drive. They confronted a 38-year-old man who was naked and had reportedly been carrying a gun, according to a police report. Officers grabbed the man after he tried to jump over the counter, but the man continued to fight against them.

The man was eventually subdued after an officer shot him with a Taser, according to the report. Police found a revolver in a nearby waiting area.

Charges: Police found man naked after he took hostage, crashed into Sand Creek

A Montgomery, Minnesota, man is accused of taking an acquaintance hostage and then crashing her car in a river in Jordan, where he forced her to take off all her clothes so they could be "baptized."

Jared Herman, 38, is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and terroristic threats, both felonies, the Jordan Police Department says.

According to the criminal complaint, police responded to the 500 block of Broadway Street South around 6:11 p.m. on June 2 after an SUV crashed into Sand Creek.

He tried to drive into a tree, but she pulled the wheel and they narrowly missed crashing into a truck when she pulled the wheel again. Herman continued to make statements like "What are you doing? God's in control! We're going to Jesus! Trust in Jesus! We're doing this!"

Herman then let go of the wheel and when the victim tried to grab it, he batted her hands away, the complaint says. That's when they crashed over a drop-off and into the creek.

Herman said they'd be "baptized in the river Jordan" and he took off all his clothes, charges say. He then dunked his dog under the water in the creek and demanded the victim take off her clothes.
