Forehead
I've never really considered Satellite radio because I don't drive much. 10 minutes to the slug lots, hop in someone else's car, 10 minutes home. Light weekend driving. No big deal. But I swear, if I hear that On the Run commercial one more time, (the one where the man and woman are replacing the word "first" with "thirst"...ie..."thirst things thirst" or "thirst block on the left") I'm going to ram my car into a bridge support. Why do they play that commercial? It is the worst...it's even worse than they siamese twins one Hognose was complaining about. It's getting time to go satellite. Anyone here have a recommendation, before the two companies merge anyway?
buenosdiaz
my old coworker sent me this I think it was in the Times but we always used to talk about how stupid the idea of satelite radio is... "A Goldman Sachs analyst dropped a bomb on Sirius and XM Satellite Radio today with a pessimistic report that caused both stocks to plunge. At the heart of analyst Mark Wienkes' report is this: young people have no need for satellite radio. By 1 p.m. PST, Sirius shares had fallen 14% to $2.08 and XM shares were down nearly 18% to $8.55." so i'd say no it's not time to buy it lol
dks1240
I have sirius and I really like it, but then again I am in the car for longer than 10 minutes at a time. I like listening to the radio just as well but satellite has awesome comedy stations.
Fifty Gut
I have both at work, in the car and at home. XM is better for hip hop and they have Opie & Anthony. Sirius is better for alternative rock and they have Sirius NFL Radio.
Chachie
Sirius has NFL, NBA, ESPN, Playboy radio, Discovery radio, Maxim radio, more rock stations, and Howard Stern.
USS Redskins
Howard Stern is the only reason I have Sirius. If he ever leaves, so do I. The other music stations and the comedy station is great and the NFL network is good during the season but not worth paying for. They do have the Skins games but they are not synched to the tv feed and like a full play behind, so its not worth listening to. I do listen to the preseason games - which are online anyway. Heisenberg
Sirius has been a godsend - it MIGHT be my favorite product I've ever purchased, simply for the fact that it is the only thing that keeps me from going absolutely insane on the long drive to work and back every day. I highly recommend Sirius - and odds are eventually the two companies will merge anyway - unless the government is dead set on making both companies go bankrupt. Sirius FTW
ACW
Howard's overrated and pompous, not to mentioned thin-skinned. Don't Maxim radio and Playboy radio defeat the purpose?
Heisenberg
I really like the 90's alternative station and hip-hop stations on Sirius as well, IMHO if Howard isn't up your alley there is plenty more to offer that has been worth paying money for in my case. I can't stand the constant commercials of regular radio and I don't see how I could ever go back. I recommend Sirius but in either case you are going to be extremely happy - it's really not all that expensive once you get the equipment, I pay for the year and forget about it. TheLongshot
I'm a big fan of XM, because I think they overall have the better lineup, but it is probably good to do your research and decide who has more of what you like as far as music goes. BTW, even if the merger happens, it will be a while before the lineups merge, so buying in now isn't a bad idea. Jason
ixcuincle
Howard's overrated and pompous, not to mentioned thin-skinned. QFT , I'd prefer XM because of Opie and Anthony on air  However , I am intrigued by NFL Radio. That's why the merger is a good thing...NFL radio and O&A on the same mega-company

I am pretty sure I heard commercials.
