Dan T.
Black Guy Asks Nation For Change CHICAGO—According to witnesses, a loud black man approached a crowd of some 4,000 strangers in downtown Chicago Tuesday and made repeated demands for change. "The time for change is now," said the black guy, yelling at everyone within earshot for 20 straight minutes, practically begging America for change. "The need for change is stronger and more urgent than ever before. And only you—the people standing here today, and indeed all the people of this great nation—only you can deliver this change." The black guy is oddly comfortable demanding change from people he's never even met. It is estimated that, to date, the black man has asked every single person in the United States for change. "I've already seen this guy four times today," Chicago-area ad salesman Blake Gordon said. "Every time, it's the same exact spiel. 'I need change.' 'I want change.' Why's he so eager for all this change? What's he going to do with it, anyway?" After his initial requests for change, the black man rambled nonstop on a variety of unrelated topics, calling for affordable health care, demanding that the government immediately begin withdrawing troops from Iraq, and proposing a $75 billion economic stimulus plan to create new jobs. "What a wacko," Schaumburg, IL resident Patrick Morledge said. "And, of course, after telling us all about how he had the ability to magically fix everything, he went right back to asking for change. Typical." Complete Article:
wysknz1
Like I say, change is good if it's good change. I just don't see the change that "O" and Hill are wanting as good change. I kinda want to keep as much money as I make as I can. Sorry, I don't consider myself selfish, but I don't want to give it to people that don't want to earn thier own. I am not wanting Socialism. And no matter how you spin it, these two are going that direction. OK, Blast away, I know I'll get it.

Im in the highest tax bracket there is and as much as I dont want to see more money coming out of my pocket, my little brother is in the Marines. Id be willing to pay more taxes to ensure he doesnt get killed fighting a war that shouldnt be fought. As I understand it and somebody correct me if Im wrong, McCain want to keep troops there for a long time and Obama wants to get them out. This is why Ill be voting for Obama. Obama wants IMMEDIATE troop withdrawal. All troops withdrawn by 16 months into his administration. It always pleases me to see military people with their head in the right place about war. Thank you for renewing my faith, stoney.

Im not a military person. I tried everything I could to stop my brother from joining. But hes a man, well sort of (he will be turning 21 in July), he has a one year old son and he did what he thought was right for his family. In no way am I trying to disrespect anybody that has served this country. I respect you guys the tremendously. Brave people. I just want him to serve his four years, get all the benefits he was promised and for him to get a well paying job when he gets out. And the safest way to do that is if Obama is president. So go ahead, raise my taxes. Thats fine as long as my brother and every other brave young man that risks their life everyday for an unjust war makes it out of there unharmed. :2cents:

No he doesn't. Definite US bases, manned by the US in Iraq and more ground troops in Afghanistan. Let us not forget his plan for Iran and Pakistan, shall we. The "military people" sent their money and votes to Paul, the one who does actually want to withdraw immediately.

I guess the troops are screwed either way. God I hope that doesnt happen. I just dont want to see another republican in there. And from what Ive read, McCain backed GW on 95% of everything that he proposed. Now I consider myself an Independent. Ill vote for either party depending on the candidate. Let us not forget his plan for Iran and Pakistan, shall we. The "military people" sent their money and votes to Paul, the one who does actually want to withdraw immediately. I suggest you read his site:http://www.barackobama.com/issues/iraq/ Bringing Our Troops Home Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda. Press Iraq’s Leaders to Reconcile The best way to press Iraq’s leaders to take responsibility for their future is to make it clear that we are leaving. As we remove our troops, Obama will engage representatives from all levels of Iraqi society – in and out of government – to seek a new accord on Iraq’s Constitution and governance. The United Nations will play a central role in this convention, which should not adjourn until a new national accord is reached addressing tough questions like federalism and oil revenue-sharing. Regional Diplomacy Obama will launch the most aggressive diplomatic effort in recent American history to reach a new compact on the stability of Iraq and the Middle East. This effort will include all of Iraq’s neighbors — including Iran and Syria. This compact will aim to secure Iraq’s borders; keep neighboring countries from meddling inside Iraq; isolate al Qaeda; support reconciliation among Iraq’s sectarian groups; and provide financial support for Iraq’s reconstruction. Humanitarian Initiative Obama believes that America has a moral and security responsibility to confront Iraq’s humanitarian crisis — two million Iraqis are refugees; two million more are displaced inside their own country. Obama will form an international working group to address this crisis. He will provide at least $2 billion to expand services to Iraqi refugees in neighboring countries, and ensure that Iraqis inside their own country can find a safe-haven. Now, he is labeled as a continuation of the Bush Admin. So you can only imagine where the labels were coming from. Just like Lieberman and the Dems. One year he is a VP on a ticket, the next he is an outsider who is castigated from the party. Both are evil and out for their own agenda. Neiter are in anyway representative of the majority. :2cents:
Koolblue13
I've read his site several times and don't want to any more. I understand his plan and it isn't "immediate withdraw" it's gradual and I have problems with it, but it is a start. I also like the diplomatic side of it and the humanitarian part. It has to be cheaper to feed and house people than to blow them up.

If you consider 2 brigades a month is gradual, then yeah, its gradual.Obama in 2007: - Withdrawal over 12 months regardless of situation Obama in 2008: - Withdrawal in 16 months regardless of situation Caveat: Al Qaeda attempting to make a base in Iraq Caveat: Diplomatic corps will remain Key phrase: Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq
