skinzdar55
Kearse is the worst put him in a hearse. He'll never come in first. Disperse. Somebody please call a nurse. Thats funny! :laugh::laugh:I don't know what's worse, Kearse, or your corny verse! That's funnier!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Commander Adama
Id trust Freak over Phillip Daniels. Freak might be able to teach Wilson a little some of his techniqueGood point though I think Wilson has good technique. He just needs to put on some pounds. Hitman#21
I like the Freak....we should cut Daniels if we make this move.
VMIRugger
I could see us going after him. A two year deal or possibly three could be realistic. Could be a good transition from Daniels to Kearse along with having Wilson and Carter. Would be decent depth and experience.
Thinking Skins
Id trust Freak over Phillip Daniels. Freak might be able to teach Wilson a little some of his technique Don't we have a defensive coordinator and defensive line coach to do that? I doubt that Kearse would make this his first priority. And even if players do that on the regular, don't we have Carter for that. What signing Kearse would do is take time away from the development of Wilson, unless Wilson takes his place on the depth chart which is highly likely and then would make the signing of Kearse a stupid move. Aireskoi
Hugh Douglas, former DE now covering the Eagles, was on Sirius Radio today talking about Kearse getting cut. He said Kearse has never learned how to play DE in the NFL. He was very critical of him, he kind of reminded me of our own B-Mitch with his brutal honesty, saying Kearse came into the league with speed but never developed any pass rushing skills. He basically said the guy is garbage. Douglas all but said Kearse is a one trick pony and the one trick doesn't work anymore. I don't remember any exact quotes, but that's what I got out of it. I wouldn't mind bringing him in for a look, but I don't expect much. He's a pretty old dog to just start learning new tricks. If he is up to speed, he could be a situational guy. If he is up to speed, he could be a situational guy. No thank you, not even that. We have Chris Wilson for that. Wilson actually had more sacks than Kearse last year (4 to 3.5). Wilson can possibly be developed. Kearse is on the tail end of his disappointing career, at one time promising career.

buckeyeG
he is limited to pass rushing now - he was horrible against the run last year. Can you say Bruce Smith in his latter years....nothing to see here, move along.

jivelikenice
I wouldn't make the Bruce Smith analogy because we would not be signing The Freak to anywhere near the deal Bruce Smith got from us at that time. There are a couple of reasons why I wouldn't be opposed to this move it it happens: 1. Last season was his 1st year off of a knee injury. As we've all heard many times before, the explosiveness doesn't really get back until year 2. 2. Prior to the injury, Jevon's low in sacks since joining Philly was 7.5. In the season he got hurt he had 3.5 sacks in the 1st 2 games. 3. (Most importantly) If we sign him it means that Blache signed off on it and I have a ton of faith in his ability to bring the best out of d-lineman. If he could get 8 sacks out of a 32 year old Phillip Daniels in '06, he could get similar production from Jevon. If the contract is low then i don't see any harm in this. I hope the Skins don't depend on only one player to come in and fix our weaknesses. Throw a Kearse and a pick or two at the d-line and lets see if one or both can pan out. This all being said, the long Odom stays out there the more I want us to make a move for him.
BTBIRD 227
We have to admit the Eagles have been very shrewd about evaluating their talent. ala Trotter and others, over the last several years. The Eagles jettison Trotter last year,Trotter signed with the Bucs and did absolutley nothing. Then the Eagles release Kearse this year. The man is a walking clinic, we need fresh legs and a heart to go along with the player, not a player looking to extend his career 1 or 2 years. Most of us Skin fans refer to the FO mistakes and wasted monies on washed up players, but again most of the posts are "lets bring him in for a roster spot". I say NO!.:logo:
New
hope i dont get NNT'd for this one..but John Clayton is reporting on the pulse on espnews that the skins and vikings are interested in signing Javon Kearse. If he could regain his form from a few years ago it could be a good thing for pretty cheap....thoughts? CHEAP is the operative term! I could do without a former Gator and Iggle! ChiefPowhatan17
Anyone who is cut by the Eagles is not up to the level of player that can be on the SKINS. It goes the other way, guys cut here usually end up playing for the Eagles. If he can't make it there, there is no way that he should have the honor of doning the Burgundy and Gold. cphil006
I hope it is just a false interest to make the Vikings pay more. I hope we fool other teams into paying too much for FAs... then we get bargain deals... that would be refreshing.
cphil006
We already have a situational pass rusher. Why would we need the injured freak. agreed. Signing Kearse would be a waste of money. chow184
vet min+ incentives and we'd be ready to go if he looks like he can be used as a pass rusher or more, and is a better option than daniels keep him. if not simple enough cut him.
