texasthunder
Dont the Giants have to give permission for the Skins to interview Spags ?? Ala Ryan with the Raven. Also- Since he has done a pretty good job so far this year, including the superbowl, wouldnt the Giants want to do everything they can to keep him ?? And especially not letting him go to a division rival ?? Mooch or Meeks for HC :wish:
HOF44
If he was interviewing for D coordinater you would be correct. He is interviewing for HC, which is a promotion. So there is not anything the giants can do, other than offer him a boatload of money to stay as their D Coord.
33
Positions where permission is not necessary: Head Coach or Front office position where the person would have "final say on football moves," if that isn't already in their contract. Anything else requires permission. The NFL used to allow coaches to interview if it was a promotion regardless, but that is no longer the case. PlayAction
Spagnola has, I believe, one year of experience as DC. While he's done a superb job it's a big jump from coordinator to HC. I'd be surprised if Snyder picked a guy with so little experience. In any case, Spagnola as a defensive guy might not like the defensive ideas of Blache. I think it's a long shot. But a good way to screw with your NFC East competition.

redskinsfan85
Spags will be the coach. He's never going to get another opportunity to raise his income 20x. I mean seriously does anyone think the Giants will win the super bowl next year. He's the IT person now and Synder WILL chase him. He'd be stupid to turn it down. Imagine if the Giants D sucks next year. No one will call him. You gotta take it when you get the chance.

spjunkies
I'm pretty sure Snyder will offer him the position, and I wonder if McDaniels wants to interview now
morpheusmeyers
Spags is the new flavor of the week. Will the SB win be enough to convince DS to not go with a fossil?
