ECU-ALUM
Don't believe everything Clayton tells you. He's human and can be and has been wrong. I'm holding to that hope right now. I don't have anything personal against Fassel...but...I just don't think he is the coach to get us to the next level.
Drex
For Snyder's and Fassel's sake, the redskins better have a solid season next year. Or else, it will be chaos.

Awgustlab
Fassel can't possibly be our new coach...... Am I in the twilight zone?????? Jeeeez....OK. IF he is the coach in 2008: 8-8 (no playoffs) and then dude is fired and we're here again next year wondering who's next.

Or else, it will be chaos. aint that the truth! though I can hear the apologists already: - he hasn't had time to get his players in place - we had a change at all 3 leadership positions...what did you expect? - he had 7 major injuries....no one could have done well - his QB had to spend the year learning a new system...next year we soar! - he won half the home games! - we're drafting top 10...this will fill in the remaining gaps - it was the defense's fault

wildbill1952
Whether or not Fassel shows up, or it's Spags as I believe, it's players who win the games. Coaches setup a game plan and adjust at the half, but it's still the players who must execute. If the new coach can reel in Cerrato, who has never understood that you need a solid offensive AND defensive line to win games, and actually spend the next two drafts building a team instead of trying to buy one, then the Skins can be a winning team again. We have the other players in place. But we have to have an offensive line for the offense to function. Our defense looked good and can stand on their own for another season. Get offensive linemen this year, and a pass-rushing DE or a 6'3+ WR next year if Wilson and Nix don't show improvement. If the new coach has enough strength to insist on drafting the right building blocks, then I see 10-6 following by 12-4 seasons and a head coach who sticks around for 4 or 5 years. If we go with the typical Vinny picks, we draft a CB or a RB or some other position that could wait and we have a defense that allows only 20 points per game and an offense that scores only 14 to 17 per game. And we go 7-9 or 6-10. Vinny will blame it on the coach and he's gone after two seasons.

Fassel will be another so so coach...he'll win some...he'll lose some. but he'll never get to the SB (he doesn't have wellington mara and acorsi standing behind him)

Capt Rich Fla
11-5 div champs 2008. Giants will be hung over from the superbowl lost. Dallas coaching staff and players are getting fleeced by the tuna in miami. The Eagles,well.......Mcnabb will be a year older and he is losing a step.2009 12-4. WCO is clicking 2010 12-4. superbowl apperence. I bet Mcnutbag won't even be there. So that puts them with their Heith Shuler type of guy. Good luck with that. The only way we even make 8&8 is if f***** rides JG' coat tails and changes nothing. Do you really think he'll keep a guy like Cartwright around? NO. We know who Rock is. He is a Redskin, through and through. Just like Mitchell, Monk and all the other greats that we have grown to love over the years. Come on now, we all love Rock, but you gotta know we haven't used him like we should. He is a sentimental favorite. His numbers could be killer somewhere else. Fassel has never even heard of him. He's gone. There starts the crack in the dam. A new coach won't want a power struggle with players. Cinton, It's been real! Sellers(another redskin) You had what, 30 carries last year? BA BYE. Ladell Betts. Who the hell are you? you can ride the bench. NOW we need to go to the draft for a big name running back. Now everyone is strangers in the locker room and we never even addressed the real needs of the team as we all know. It's just stupid. HOW... CAN I BE SMATER THAN DAN SNYDER? You Scrout. thedoc4454
Fassel loses his first 6 games by an average of 44 points a game. Sensing that Dan is going to strike first and fire him Fassel stages a premptive attack and bursts into Snyder's office with a loaded gun only to find Dan and Vinnie playing the naked version of 21 questions. Fassel, in a state of shock, accidently shots himself in the foot. Dan calls an ambulance, climbs back into his suit, hides Vinnie in the closet, and then negotiates a 55 million dollar settlement with Fassel to resign. A week later a new search is begun for a head coach. Two weeks later Danny raises the prices on tickets, parking and beer at Fed Ex Field to pay for the Fassel firing, and sends Vinnie out in front of the press to announce the good news - no pay toilets at Fed Ex for at least this year. Sorry if I am offending anyone with the Snyderatto bashing...but we have seen this crap so many times over the years that I am tierd of it. The lowest point for me as a Skins fan was the last 6 games of the Spurrier years...and I have a dreadful fear that we are heading back that way again. HigSkin
Forgeting for a moment that Fassel is going to be the HC, the team still has a lot of talent. I suspect the first year to be somewhere in the 9 or 10 game win category. We also have an easier schedule. It's the following year that I'm worried about and that's based on Fassel's up and down career.

Birdlives
2-3 years tops because that's all anyone gets under the Snyder regime; unless, of course, you've won 3 Superbowls. I figure our offense will just start coming together when Snyder blows everything up again. Anyone else notice how since Norval we've been a fairly solid defensive team but just can't seem to manage to get our offense together? There's a reason. Capt Rich Fla
Guys please! How many times do we have to see this mess played out? My brugundy glasses were as thick as any, but tonight I have chosen to throw them to the ground and stomp on them. I have and will always be a REDSKIN fan, but it breaks my heart to see us (the Redskins) made a mockery of. Dallas fans are rolling in the isles tonight. Oh, I know I'll have some 16 year old punk say, "daa, why don't you just not be a fan anymore?" My answer will simply be, "meet me in the owners suits, room 11 and we'll talk about it."(punk as. b....) My friend pays a lot of money for those seats. 200 grand a year plus $2,500 a ticket and he gets 12 tickets a game. Do the math! That man deserves a better product than FASSEL. I'll keep going, but the buying of stuff has stopped. The hat I have now had better last cause I aint givin' DAN another dime and I'm sneekn' those little liquor bottles in too. No more $17 rum & cokes DAN.

Capt Rich Fla
If this doesn't work out Snyder is royally screwed, because Coach Gibbs will not be charging in on a white horse to save his ass again from the fans running him out of here on the first thing smokin'. Well, he does own the whole shootin' match, so there aint no rinnin' him out. All we can do raise enough caine so he changes his mind. He's on here. Oh you can bet he sees this. Don't you DAN! DO NOT BRING JIM FASELL HERE! DAN.
