lyon514
I recently got a Landry jersey from www.purejerseys.com . It's a great jersey as far as the "non-retail-price-authentics" go. It has all the stitching and material down pat. The guy recently put a another gorup of skins jerseys on there. check it out. let me know if you want me to upload a picture. Mark The Homer
At first glance, the site seems pretty legitimate. They use registered trademarks and make it a point to state that their products are licensed by the league. He guarantees a 14 day return policy. The first thing I noticed that made me suspicious was the lack of capitalization. Bad grammar, spelling, and punctuation is frequently a sign of a fraudelent site or eBay listing. Second thing that caught my eye is the photos he's using are straight from nfl.com. As a buyer, I'd rather see photos of his stock. Anybody can copy photos from nfl.com. What confirmed that the site is fraudelent was this: You can see the letters have yellow around them. The Redskins have never had yellow around the letters on their jerseys. BUSTED. Mark The Homer
I've made bad jersey purchases before, and after you get stung, it kind of sticks in your mind. I've purchased a jersey with yellow around the letters. I've purchased a jersey with sewn on stripes. So now I'm just super aware and alert to every possible thing that can go wrong. Edit: Redskins store pic https://store.redskins.com/productinfo.asp?item=264&deptcode1=554&sn=4 I see some yellow:) And by the way... ironically, that listing above is wrong as well. That's not an authentic jersey, it's a game jersey. If you purchase that jersey, the jersey you receive will not look anything like the one in the photo. I would think and hope that it was an honest error. But that listing has been sitting there for something approaching two full years now -- and it's hard to believe they could leave it up there for so long without realizing their error. This has been pointed out several times in this forum. After all this time, you have to wonder if the listing is incorrect on purpose...
lyon514
Look guys - go ahead and tear me apart if you'd like. I didn't say that these jerseys were game-worn or retail authentic. You know better then to think you can go buy a legit authentic jersey online for half the price of retail (unless it is a special sale by the team or a person who has an old authentic that they don't want anymore and don't care how much they sell it for). All I was advertising is a place where I was able to purchase a jersey that was good enough for me. I don't need every stripe in the right place or the right number of stitches or whatever ... I was just looking to get a decent looking jersey to support my team and offered to share the website with others who have similar views to my own. So, in closing, if you want to tear me apart - fine with me. I am in no way looking to rip anyone off and I am sorry you decided to jump to conclusions without sending me a personal message first. Here are pictures of the jersey I purchased and am happy. If you don't like the jersey - fine - don't buy any but don't get mad at me for supporting a site that satisfied my wishes. And don't be angry if my wishes in jersey quality/authenticity are not on the same level as your own.

mojobo
ebay fakes only cost between $30-$40 so it isn't really a good idea. It would be a good idea to become more part of the community before you try to get us to buy jerseys from somebody, although I couldn't find anything wrong with the site besides the fact that it is a bad deal. Mark The Homer
Lyon, here's my problem with the site: 1) They pretend to sell legitimate licensed NFL jerseys, complete with registered trademarks and photos taken from nfl.com. But the product they ship to you is not what they sold you. The product is a counterfeit, which makes them a rogue operation. That reason alone is why the site should be avoided. 2) The price is too high! Sure, it's a reasonable price compared to an nfl.com jersey or a redskins.com jersey, but you can't compare the jersey to a licensed jersey because the jersey they sell doesn't look anything like a licensed jersey. It's an unreasonable comparison. And like mobojo points out, jerseys that look like that can be purchased on eBay for less than half what the site wants. He's right! If you're happy with your purchase, then that's all that matters. But a buyer should know what he's buying, and it's not what they're selling. Many of us are pointing that out. I've had an ongoing conversation by email with who I guess is the owner of the site. He finally stopped returning my emails. Here it is for your entertainment (read from the bottom up): scam Pronunciation: (skam), [key] —n., v., scammed, scam•ming. —n. a confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, esp. for making a quick profit; swindle. —v.t. to cheat or defraud with a scam The above definition describes your operation perfectly. You provide fraudelent information to coax your buyer into believing he is making a purchase of a specific product. And then, after he pays, you ship him a counterfeit product. That is a scam. -----Original Message----- From: PureJerseys.com <purejerseys@gmail.com> To: marknmd@aol.com Sent: Sun, 3 Feb 2008 3:23 pm Subject: Re: Chris Cooley Jersey Order No matter what you keep saying, we're not changing anything. lyon514
UPDATE - PLEASE READ ... I have spoken with the owner of PureJerseys.com. The Redskins jerseys were purchased almost a year ago from a distributor that they no longer do business with. They realize now that the jerseys are not 'authentic' due to various discrepancies. All the jerseys purchased from that distributor have been removed from the site. The Redskins jerseys that are still posted were purchased much later from other distributors. He once again apologizes for any heinous emails that were issued on behalf of the company and appreciates the criticism that allowed the business to be cleaned up.
