SkinsHokieFan
Hmm, and somehow I wonder why I don't take this organization seriously http://blogs.timesunion.com/capitol/?p=6285 The National Organization for Women’s New York chapter issued a scathing reaction to Sen. Ted Kennedy’s endorsement of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Actually, the word “scathing” feels inadequate here.Read for yourself: “Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. Women have forgiven Kennedy, stuck up for him, stood by him, hushed the fact that he was late in his support of Title IX, the ERA, the Family Leave and Medical Act to name a few. Women have buried their anger that his support for the compromises in No Child Left Behind and the Medicare bogus drug benefit brought us the passage of these flawed bills. We have thanked him for his ardent support of many civil rights bills, BUT women are always waiting in the wings. “And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one). ‘They’ are Howard Dean and Jim Dean (Yup! That’s Howard’s brother) who run DFA (that’s the group and list from the Dean campaign that we women helped start and grow). They are Alternet, Progressive Democrats of America, democrats.com, Kucinich lovers and all the other groups that take women’s money, say they’ll do feminist and women’s rights issues one of these days, and conveniently forget to mention women and children when they talk about poverty or human needs or America’s future or whatever. “This latest move by Kennedy, is so telling about the status of and respect for women’s rights, women’s voices, women’s equality, women’s authority and our ability – indeed, our obligation - to promote and earn and deserve and elect, unabashedly, a President that is the first woman after centuries of men who ‘know what’s best for us.’”

chiefhogskin48
I don't think the women of NOW have collectively ever had a penis in them before. They just need to get railed, then maybe they'd be less bitter.

Mass_SkinsFan
Gee, the National Organization of Women is complaining because Senator Edward Kennedy isn't on their side? That he didn't support title IX, the ERA, the Family Medical Leave Act, etc.... If this organization had any brains they would have disowned him years ago when he left a woman in a car at the bottom of a body of water and used his family name to avoid any level of prosecution for her Murder. DGreenistheBest
At least the national NOW org was neutral. NY NOW sort of reminds me of those feminist stereotypes you see in movies where they're hateful of anything with a penis and ultimately all turn out to be lesbians. sacase
So they are mad because he didn't endose Hillary? Never mind that he thinks Obama is a better president for the country. They just want him to support any woman. Hell, I bet they would get mad if he didn't endorse Britney Spears for President if she was running. Then again, they might call brit a sell out because she is having babies.

JMS
Hmm, and somehow I wonder why I don't take this organization seriouslyhttp://blogs.timesunion.com/capitol/?p=6285 Fact is most of NY is conservative and hates Ted Kennedy anyway. It's only NY city that has a reputation for pulling the state to the left and pro Democrat. Check the last two Mayors of NY. Guliani and Bloomberg; both Republicans. This is just a little blow back from the Clintons for the snub. Ted doesn't have any serious issues with the ladies.

pez
What is with this group.... they want a Clinton to be backed up, just because she is a woman? If there was a race between Heidi Fleiss and Obama, would they want Fleiss in as well? I think it comes down to who will be best for this country, and at this point I would elect Obama over Hillary any day...
