So are we looking at another 4 years of rebuilding? (Merged & M.E.T.)

So are we looking at another 4 years to rebuild the team again? 4 years for the Team to be used to and fully learn the new offense and defense? by that time. Dan Snyder would probably be a idiot again and fire all staff and hire new ones...

his patience is as equivelant to a monkey trying to crack open a nut shell.

Its gonna be a longggg X years untill we see the Redskins in a superbowl.

Ask yourself...is this team good enough as it stands with a few tweaks here and there?

In my opinion, the answer to that is a definite "no."

We have a maxed-out cap, and an aging team in enormously important spots along the offensive and defensive lines in particular.

We need not hesitate in acknowledging the fact that this team is simply not ready to compete for anything beyond a wild card spot. Until we do acknowledge that, we'll be spinning our tires trying to capture wild card spots.

But hey, if wild card playoff spots and early playoff exits are what keep you happy, then keep moving forward as our roster stands - the group we have assembled here can realistically compete for the 5th or 6th playoff spot each year.

If Super Bowl wins are your game, then disassemble what we have and acknowledge that we need to start from as close to stratch as possible.

If that takes 3 or 4 years to do, then fine. In the meantime, we wouldn't be missing out on any Super Bowl parades in D.C. anyways.

I'm with the hog here, fans are acting like Snyder tore apart some super team or something.

The facts are we have a very mediocre team and we would've blown up like Tennessee did n 2 years or so. I'd rather clean the slate now and try to right this ship.

So what you're saying is that Gibbs basically accomplished nothing here the past 4 years. Not that I'm disagreeing.....................

heres something i thought about.

when snyder was interviewing could the choice of staff have come up and with that was zorn a constant name. not just fassell but other coaches as well mora jr etc if thats so then snyder may have been trying to get a good oc that would mesh well with whatever new coach is selected. that dosent mean a puppet but a consensus coach that would be able to work with the final choice. as for the new dcorrdinator maybe there were toomany different reactions or answeres that the decision to promote from within was to maintain defensive continuity and also give a chance to let next season progress so if blanche does indeed retire they have a line on a heir apparent.

Try another decade! :silly:

Being a fan it's tough for me to swallow the fact that we are indeed the laughing stock of the NFL!

I don't really want to say he accomplished nothing because he did get us to the mediocre level but I don't think we could've went beyond that.

Breathe man, breathe, proper sentence structure is a good thing.

If it ends up being Fassel and he helped pick these coordinators, fine! If NOT, ut oh!

4 years, how about never? We will never be a superbowl contender while the little idiot is in control, period! How many times can any of you remember, a HC being hired after the offensive and defensive coordinators? Please tell me! It doesn't happen, the head coach likes to pick his OWN staff, HIS OWN! Ok maybe its Fassel and he is OK with these 2 guys, then why wasn't he hired by now? The little idiot wants to interview the Giants DC, what if that guy wants to install a different defense? HIS OWN defensive philosophies, not what Greg "90 year old" Blache wants? Same on offense, what if he wants to run a power running game instead of the Zorn WCO?

I do believe this team was 4 or 5 players away from being a top-notch football team, but 2 or 3 of them are offensive lineman, and, depending on the development of Goldston and Montgomery, 1 on the defensive line, more if my expectations of their development falter. Couple that with a tall WR, and yes, I do believe the Skins are within striking distance.

Having said that, the team needs offensive and defensive linemen, positions overlooked by media, HOF voters and the wunderkind twins Danny and Vinny. I still hold out hope that the new HC, as one of his bargaining chips, insists on the right to choose the draft and will draft the aforementioned positions. Failing that, I do see more of the same mediocrity.

Hence my recent change in sig.

We will be doing this again in another 3-4 years. In that time, we will make the playoffs 0 times and finish in the bottom 1/2 of our division in all years.

The positive, however is we should be in the top 15 for draft picks every year!!

Let me try to sum up what i said quickly and succintly. Maybe zorn was a choice of all the final candidates. Thats why hes hired hes someone that all the candidates want then whats the problem of already having him here for them.now blanche would be the big ? in that situation unless hes more of a continuity/stopgap for a year until more choice d.c.'s are on the market.

something tells me its not going to be spagnolo that they have there final candidate (s) already and that there overall choice for a O.c. was zorn. it may be a big splashy name that the F.O. feels would be deemed as the skins trying to one up the pre superbowl hype if they announce it pre superbowl.

They need to at least keep some semblance of continuity in the roster. I think the team united around each other to the point where they could be good even with a mediocre HC *coughChargerscough*

I'd say, with the right ROSTER moves - two years. Landry, I believe, is going to be a great FS. I'd keep him there, in fact. He has all the right physical characteristics and just seems really well-suited for it. I think we need to draft more depth behind Jason as far as QBs are concerned. Both of our backups are about 37 and I'm not very sure I like that situation very much. I could go and break this down position by position, but that would take time I don't feel like spending.

Really, it's a toss-up. Our division is the most competitive one in pro football right now. You know that because you never see 8-8 teams end up last place in their own division. 3 teams from the NFC East made the playoffs this year, and one of them is in the Super Bowl.

So, you never really know. It all depends on how we match up against out-of-division opponents because you know all of the NFC East teams are going to whack each other senseless.

So, there's no real way of knowing until we get into the season.
