SMOSS89
I know it doesnt have EVERYTHING to do with football, but I was havign a conversation with a couple buddies of mine from NY and they said that if the Giants won it'd be pay back to the Boston fans for what happened to the Yankees back in '04 in the ALCS. Now I dont know if that is true, because in both cities, football is less important than baseball, however it is the same fanbase essentially going against eachother. What do you think? I know its not the most football related thing but hey, its the bye before the superbowl so there isnt much to talk about anyay (besides the circus that is the stadium). DWinzit
No way, NYers will be reeling from that loss forever.
Larry Brown #43
It certainly could be. The Giants knocking off an undefeated Patriots team in the Super Bowl would be quite a blow. It would be absolutely hilarious and I hope it happens. I would pay money to watch Belichick's and Brady's postgame press conferences.
CM916
No because I may be a Yankee fan but I'm certainly not a Giants fan.
hail2skins
I asked two guys at work, one a NY fan, one a Boston fan, and they both said that a Patriot loss would be a bigger deal than the '04 ALCS Yankee collapse.
DWinzit
Where I live and work it is predominately a Giant football fan base and a Yankee baseball fan base. The Yankees 2004 demise was one of epic proportion in most of their minds, far and away the most humiliating thing that could have happened. Throughout last years baseball season when I prodded them (yes I am a Sox fan:D ) they usually would mutter things regarding the 04 series like they should have never let them up. This would be a huge upset if the Giants could do it but no where near revenge for the Yankee debacle and the rise of the Bosox to now 2 World Series in past few years! sens11
That ALCS will sting forever....no revenge will be felt.... Two totally different animals.
Tom [Giants fan]
I am a Yankees fan but I'm a much bigger Giants fan. A Giants win against this team would probably be the biggest win in my sports history and I've been a fan of both for 30 years. Would it make up for the Yankee collapse? Probably not but I would be too happy to remember it for quite some time.
SHYSTER411
I doubt it. Maybe if the Pats are up by 4 touchdowns with 2 mintues left in the game and somehow blow it.
DGreenistheBest
No way, it's like asking if cutting off your enemy's arm makes up for him cutting off your leg. You still don't have a leg.

bulldog
There's a silver lining for Redskins fans in case either team loses If it's the Patriots we can look back at that 52-7 game where Bellichick showed no mercy and laugh that along with the 15-1 Vikings in 1998, New England was the team with the best record NOT to win a Super Bowl since the merger And if the Patriots lay one on the Giants, we can look toward our brethren in NY and shake our heads and tell them they can lay this one next to the other stink bomb they laid down in 2000 in the 34-7 loss to the Ravens. Either way. It's all good :nana:
