Can someone list out the good moves he's made versus the bad. I see so much vitriol spewed his way and I don't know why. Someone please alleviate my ignorance with some well based facts. I see lots of "he doesn't know anything about football" type comments, yet he worked for San Fran for ~9 years. He must know something. Has he had any real control and decision making authority while here? I'm just not privy to the inner workings of the organization. Maybe someone who is can shed some light on his short commings supported by fact and not message board conjecture.

we don't know for sure what moves have been all him and which he was opposed to, but Wilbon recently insinuated that some of the personel gafs in recent seasons he objected to beforehand. - Snyder has always been a "give the coach what he wants" type of owner, but maybe this titile change is allowing Vinny to have more authority over these moves in the future.

I doubt Vinny personally picked Arch Deluxe, Duckett or Lloyd. I'm sure Gibbs had his hands all over Duckett and Lloyd and Williams personally picked Deluxe. How is Vinny responsible for those failures? I don't get it either. Most of the Redskins personnel moves have been sucessful as well as the draft selections.

Duckett was all Gibbs. At the time of that trade Betts was hurt and had a history of being frequently hurt, Portis was hurt pretty bad. Gibbs talked to his buddy Rich McKay and was wooed into trading for Duckett. - The decison to get another rb in camp wasn't the wrong one, but giving up 2 picks for him was.

AA and lloyd were supposedly other coaches.

Have you heard him speak? ouch...

That's the killer for me. I'm not looking for someone who is especially articulate, but when he talks he really doesn't sound like he understands much about football.

It's all vague and in generalities - he and the Ol' Ball Coach seem similiar.:laugh:

hes a complete moron. look at the dudes face, look into his eyes. you can tell hes a few cards short of a full deck. he also doesnt believe in drafting dlineman in the first round. any moron knows the key to building a great defense/offense starts with your lines. he obviously was getting his lobotomy during that course.

how does anyone know he makes the early picks? - That seems like coaches preferneces the last several years.

Yup, because drafting dlineman in the 1st round is such a sure thing.

Here is my problem with Vinny...he is the only common denominator across all the teams of the Snyder era (except for the Marty year) other than Snyder himself. We have tried different head coaches, different coaching staffs, different players, different ways of getting those players and different offensive and defensive philosophies. The results have been pretty much the same...mediocrity. So I am left to conclude that the issue is either Vinny or Snyder or the team of Vinny and Snyder. I can address two of these possibilities by replacing Vinny which is a lot easier than getting Dan to sell the team.

Perhaps the problem is that Snyder and Vinny allowed the coaches (Spurrier, Gibbs, Williams) to get the players they "had" to have. That is also a common denominator as well. They've pretty much let the coaches do what they want and they just handle the finances.

We all know that Vinny "Sidekick" Cerrato has been Danny's "yes man" for years. Hearing all the talk the last few days about how Vinny "Sidekick" Cerrato was against a lot of the signings and he was over ridden by Danny may tell the story here.

Vinny "Sidekick" Cerrato just received a promotion as Vice President of Football Ops. Let's play the rest of this story out and see what kind of power, if any, he wields. Who knows, with this much control, he might turn out to be another Bobby Beathard.......................Not!.............

How about the fact that when he was hired by the Redskins, there was not one single team in the NFL, CFL, NFL Europe, Pop Warner, or Madden that was interested in giveing Cerrato a job (sounds familar to Fossil since getting the can by the Ravens). But for some reason, Synder took a shining to him.

Compare him to similar peers with, on paper anyway, the same roles and responsibilities and he ranks dead last. He is a "yes" man, plain and simple. Anyone worth their salt in his position would have walked away at some of the personnel moves made by this organization. Synder is good at surrounding himself with people he trusts, not necessarily the best people to provide him with insight and strategy.

I don't know. Don't like the decision on Cerrato, and definitely don't like the idea of Fossil (yes I know how its spelled but this is more appropriate). However, if Synder's plan is a one year guinea pig until Cowher or other more ig splash names come along, he has the potential of causing more long term damage to the organization trying to use Williams next year than he does someone as unemployable as Fassel.
